Durable practice balls for a good price
I almost didn't order these balls because of some less than stellar reviews on their bounce quality. They are fine for practice. I coach tennis as my job, and also coach my own kids and their friends at the local park. At work I use the balls the tennis club purchases. At the park, I use balls I purchase myself. I went ahead and ordered these because we needed to work with the green ball this season. True - there are a couple odd balls in the bunch! We hit a couple that bounced funny and you could feel an uneven thickness in the rubber lines on the balls. Still - we kept those odd balls in and just looked at them as surprise reaction opportunities during our practice drills. Of course, I wouldn't suggest running an official tennis tournament with these balls. But for practice all summer and fall at the park, they have been just fine. They are more durable than lively. Since I live in New England, the balls will sit unused in the basement all winter. I can presume by the feel of the balls that we will likely get a little more use out of them next Spring. They hardly show any wear from playing all season on hard courts outdoors. On the flip side, they are not as bouncy and lively as the Penn green dot balls we have inside the tennis club. Those balls however, lose their liveliness soon enough. It's all give and take. Another thing I like about these balls is the green dot is inconspicuous. Our old green balls were bi-colored and the extra green resulted in a visual distraction on a spinning ball. These balls look like regular yellow balls during play. The green dot makes them identifiable for sorting purposes. I also own a bucket of Gamma yellow balls for practice. Those have a similar durability without liveliness issue. Overall I would say the issue is less noticeable during play with these green balls than with the yellow balls. In other words, when you go to play your tournament, are you going to feel like you are on the moon playing with the wrong ball? The answer for the Gamma yellow balls may be yes. But the answer for these green balls is no. It is a close-enough feeling of play that the kids can practice with these and perform well in competition with competition balls (which have more feel and are livelier). If we were millionaires, we'd crack a new can of green balls for every practice. For what we want to pay, these balls suit our needs just fine.

The package included 11 balls, not the 12 balls advertised.
There were only 11 balls included, though the package was supposed to include a dozen.

Nice and Slow
These are good for beginners of tennis no matter the age! The balls bounce slower than your regular tennis balls giving the beginner enough time to get into position and return the ball.

Acceptible Inexpensive Ball
These Stage 1 (a.k.a. green dot balls) tennis balls with Gamma's name on them or OK. They are not as good as Wilson or Dunlop but they are significantly cheaper than many of the other brands. Quality and consistency is good. I haven't found any discernable variation in any of the balls form Gamma. I run USTA tennis tournaments for a living so during the year I will typically use forty to fifty of these 48 ball buckets. In terms of compression these are one of the softest name brand Stage 1 balls available. Their cover durability is also very short compared to Wilson & Dunlop balls. Here we can re-use the Stage 1 balls for consolation matches depending on the condition of the balls. Re-usability for these is zero. After one match the covers are very worn and the silk screening is almost completely obliterated. With Wilson balls in particular the re-usability is around 80%. With Dunlops around 50%. With Gammas 0%. This coincides with the relative compressions of Stage 1 balls from these three manufacturers. Wilson have most compression. Gammas have the least compression while Dunlop is in the middle between these two. The Stage 1 Gamma balls don't have a lot more compression than do the orange and yellow Stage 2 balls. If the bottom line price tag is the ultimate consideration then these Gamma Stage 1 balls are a good way to go. If quality factors in to the decision then I recommend either Dunlop or Wilson. By the way, I buy a lot of the balls for my tournaments here on Amazon. They are price competitive with other sources plus with Amazon Prime I get free two day shipping either to my home or to the tennis center where the tournament will be held. Just a final note in closing - a couple of years ago we did get four tubs of no-name green dot balls imported from China. They were terrible so be careful in what you buy when it comes to Stage 1 balls. They are all different.

Just what my son needed.
My son is just learning to play tennis and these are perfect since they don't go flying super far. Our dog likes them too much so we'll probably have to buy more.

Dogs love them!
I was looking for a replacement ball for my obsessed pup and her older sister, when I came across these balls. The dogs absolutely love them, and the transition from the no longer available penn ones to these was seamless. 5 stars.

Great tennis balls for my 9 yo son to develop his game with!
These are great to play with for my 9 yo son, who can't quite deal with the speed of normal pressure tennis balls. The slightly slower speed these balls have allow my son to hit shots with confidence, practicing what he's learned from tennis lessons. It also lets this aging dad (and his mom!) be able to keep up and have good rallies together. This allows my son to take risks and start developing some of the skills to adjust and adapt to different aspects of the game (ie. drop shots, net play, lob shots, etc). Get the 50 ball bucket as these will quickly develop into fuzzy tennis balls on hard surface courts.
