Neoprene socks
Your feet will get wet. Size is good, maybe small if anything. The gripper dots all fell off on the first use. Otherwise these are neoprene socks. Enjoy

They got the job done, but
I ordered these for the family for a trip to Yellowstone. I'm a 10.5 and the large fit, while my wife and kids are all about the same size at the moment (women's 7/8) and the small was too small. The socks are thin, and do not provide much additional cushion or warmth which can be good and bad. My wife ended up with an expensive pair (last minute replacement) from the local shop. They cost 2-3X more, but she was very happy with them as the extra material made them very comfortable and her wading boots fit perfectly. My boots slipped around some while hiking as the socks are pretty thin. Overall they worked, but I wish I had paid a little extra for the thicker pair as we hiked 4-8 miles for a week in them and my feet would have been better off if I had.

Good for what they are
Didn't realize these didn't have sealed seams. So, they are for wet wading. Good at what they are intended for.

They work.
They were as advertized and less expensive than Cabela. Good for a summer day. On a brushy stream however, a pair of water proof pants or altered waders would be needed. One to keep those deer flies off the exposed legs , an addition to cconsider.

Actually 2.5mm thick, gravel guard too narrow at base for larger boots
I bought these for wet wading with my Simms wader boots. When I first opened the box, I could tell they were thinner than the advertised 3.5mm thick neoprene. I measured with a digital caliper, and they are actually only 2.5mm, so will be loose in wader boots sized for 3-4mm socks (my full-length waders have 3.5mm socks). While they are narrow at the top, so will be good for keeping out debris, they do not widen at the base. This is a problem for wader boots. I found the back hiking up to the top of the boot just walking a few steps around the house, so know I'll be getting silt and gravel in my heel in a stream. If you have a wider boot, it also stresses the fragile stitching down the edge (see pic). So at this price point, it's a good value if you have the footwear compatible with these, like sandals or smaller shoes. I don't recommend for the stout wader boots.

Not really gravel guards... sizing wrong
These are just extra long and you fold them over to get the gravel guard. By the time they are folded over enough to cover the top of my boot, they are too low to prevent gravel from entering directly inside the foot area which is worse. With the top edge being rounded over on the fold, more grit will be funneled into your bare foot. I have noticed the other brands offered on Amazon are the same way. It used to be that the gravel guard was an extra pc of material sewn onto the bootie as a flap. So the top remained snug against your leg and higher up. Orvis was this way but, no longer. Also, I don't understand why sizing for a foot product uses S,M,L,XL etc. I'm a 9.5 or 10 shoe size. Very clear. I went to the Frogg Togg site and couldn't find these booties but, every stocking foot wader model said a medium was 8-11 shoe size. I'm right in the middle of the range and Medium in this bootie is much too small for me. UPDATE: I reordered the large. As explained above, It should actually be too large based on FroggTogg sizing website but, since the medium was too small, the large should be OK. However, it is only slightly larger and really is still too small. I'll have to live with it. Conclusion, I'm a 9.5 or 10 shoe size and large in this bootie is too small.

Extremely poor quality
Cannot recommend! Needed these for a fishing outing - and got them too late to return. Frogg Toggs have horrible inaccurate sizing. I take a mens size 8 so ordered medium - got an extremely tiny sole with terribly narrow sock. Thinking they were meant to stretch - i optimistically kept them. After two afternoons fishing all the little grippy dots gone and back heel split open. Seams are awful, sparsely sewn with large thread loops - Not tapped, not glued! And of course this results in soaking wet and frozen feet. Dumping them in the garbage where they belong.

Not waterproof
These neoprene boot insert are completely fine but they have major flaw in construction. They are build from many separate pieces and then stiched together. Water will enter your boots through these stiched lines... if you are looking fot waterproof better dont't buy these.
