Remove both the Blower Fan Assembly and the Motor together
Best to remove the Motor and the Fan Assembly together at one unit to work on it on a bench. Then it is much easier to disconnect the Motor from the Fan. Youtube has lots of video tutorials. My main problem was that the Blower Fan Assembly was frozen and would not move at all. Motor spindle would not turn by hand until it was free of the Blower fan assembly. Unfortunately for me, the metal nut from the Blower fan was fused to the Motor spindle. Tried to cut the metal nut off with a dremel tool, but the metals had fused together. So I had to replace BOTH the motor and the Blower Fan Assembly, too. My Kenmore (Frigidaire) gas dryer is 20 years old, but it has a stainless steel drum (30 years life). Now with a new Motor and a new Blower Fan Assembly, the dryer is working again. Quiet, too.

Fixed my issue: Hard to start
This was the exact part that came out of my old Kenmore 417.92142101 gas dryer. My issue was the dryer was struggling when starting to spin. It would buzz, but not turn. If you emptied it and hand spun it and tried a couple of times, eventually it would run. Nice electrical burn smell when struggling to start. Assumed it was the motor. It takes a bit to get to the motor, but I also didn't have a lot of room in the area where I was trying to get at it which made it more difficult. Pretty easy in theory. I didn't even take the drum off. Took the top off, then the front, rear access panel and got to all the screws I needed to. Hung the drum from the cross bar when I pulled the blower/motor out. Vice grips on the back pulley of the old motor and I was able to free the nylon nut from the blower box. Cleaned it out. Cleaned everything out and reassembled. Starts like a champ!

Perfect fit replacement. 13 y/o Dryer runs like new!
I bought this to replace the motor in my Frigidaire Gallery Heavy Duty Dryer (Model: FSG447GHS0 manufacture date 04/00) when it finally gave up after 13 years of reliable service. This motor is an exact fit replacement. Installation was very simple. It took me about 90 minutes to remove the old motor and about 40 minutes to install the replacement. While you're in there, I highly recommend also replacing the belt, tension pulley, rear drum bearing and the felt that seals and provides the bearing surface for the front of the drum. All these parts are available here on Amazon for very cheap. About 9 months ago I replaced all the other parts after the felt seal was so worn that it would catch all of the snaps and rivets on clothes or the corners of collared shirts, etc. in the gap between the top of the drum and the upper-right quadrant of the door opening. This would twist and burn the clothes with the friction of the moving drum. At the time, I though that I should have also replaced the motor to avoid another dryer outage later on. With three young children, a few days without a dryer is a big problem. Murphy's law - a few months later the motor burned out. This replacement motor was delivered a day earlier that expected using Prime 2 day free shipping. My dryer now runs like it did 13 years ago for a fraction of what a new dryer costs. I couldn't be happier! Don't forget to have your vacuum ready to remove the 6 lbs of lint out of there while you're at it!

Just What My Dryer Needed!
After my dryer stopped working, I called a repair guy to troubleshoot why it would no longer start. He charged almost $100 to tell me that the motor was no good. He said it would cost almost $300 to fix but that the $100 diagnostic fee would be waived. Talk about highway robbery. For what he was charging, I could just buy a new dryer instead. Well before I decided to invest in a new machine, I went on-line to see if I could do it myself. Sure enough there were a couple of sites who offered step by step instructions on how to do your own diagnostic. I first purchased and changed the thermal limiter. That didn't fix it. Next, I changed the safety thermostat. Still no good. I finally changed the switch and the dryer still wouldn't start. Finally, I saw the motor on amazon for $62 and said this would be my last attempt. After watching a tutorial on repairclinic .com, I was able to swap the motor with no real issues. It took about an hour because I had to run and get a 7/8 socket head. Other than that, no problems. The motor came nicely packed and looked brand new. I'm very pleased with the purchase and having a working dryer again!

Affordable OEM replacement motor
Motor is a direct replacement and fit with no problem and runs very quiet. I gave this motor 3 star rating for longevity because the bearings are sleeve bearing instead of ball or roller bearings. For the price this motor is good.

Perfect fit this replaced my motor part 131461800A in Fridgidare dryer modelFD975ES0
The dryer would make a loud noise when starting and would shut off after a few minutes. When attempting restart it would make the noise but the drum wouldn’t turn. If the drum was manually turned a bit, it would sometimes start again but would stop after a few minutes. Took it apart, vacuumed and cleaned out lint, the belt was ok, cleaned up the bearing and greased it. Decided it must be the motor so ordered it and it arrived in 3 days to rural Alberta from Chicago! Took 10 minutes to put it back together. Works like a charm. I’m happy to fix instead of buying a new one and dumping this into the landfill.

fixed my loud grinding dryer
My 19 year old Kenmore (Frigidaire) dryer started making a loud grinding sound. I looked online and it appeared most people were saying it was the bearing and bearing cup that needed to be replaced. So I took my dryer apart, and there wasn't a lot of grease left on the bearing cup or the bearing mounted to the back of the drum. A drive to my local appliance store and $10 later, I had a new bearing cup. I installed it and used wheel bearing grease which is rated for high temps. No luck. Next up - is it the motor or the blower fan that is the issue. In the end it didn't matter much because after watching YouTube videos most people say they end up breaking the plastic of the fan when trying to remove the fan from the motor. So I heeded their advice and purchased a motor and the entire blower assembly. (Frigidaire 131775600 Asmy-Blower Hsg/cov/w) They arrive super fast and on the same day. Sure enough - while waiting for the new parts to arrive, using a 7/8 socket and a pair of vise grips to hold the motor shaft, I got the fan to loosen, but it did what everyone else says happens, it cracks the plastic (terrible design). Fast forward to today - the parts arrived and I was anxious/nervous to get everything back together. After spending a total of $300 for parts, I was wondering if it was money well spent or should I have forked out $900 for a new dryer. I took my time reassembling everything and voila! The dryer is working like it was brand new. (note, I still don't know if the motor or the blower was the culprit but I recommend buying both pieces since it's likely you'll crack the fan trying to remove it from the motor). Here's to hoping it'll keep running for at least a few more years!

Easy to install. Just go on youtube.
I bought this to repair my dryer - it was going buzz instead of starting. Taking it apart, it was clear the motor had seized. This part fit perfectly and now my dryer is working properly again.

Works great, cheaper than buying in store
Old dryer motor had shorted out, replaced with this motor and works great. Have to pull apart entire dryer, definitely recommend doing bearing assembly and belt while you have it open. No more problems since replacing, even quieter than before.
