Single dart action makes it not very fun.
I dont like that the amazon page and the box clearly say “darts” plural but the kit only contains one dart. As a major improvement please include a BLUE dart so that there is a better team/competitive element. I think the manufacturer is trying to avoid a situation where kids can shoot each other with darts, or where a kid can accidentally get hit by another player while retreiving his dart from the target. If the game is not safe enough to allow players to have two darts, maybe its not safe even with one. Something to think about. It is enjoyable to play for a few minutes, but constantly havin to retreive the dart makes the action very slow. Not very interesting overall. Also very hard for young people as it relys so heavily on arm strength to pull back the dart. I don’t recommend it.

Poor Construction for Price
I am surprised by what a letdown this Franklin Sports product was, since they usually make good stuff. First, for the price, the build quality was poor and more in line with a cheap off-brand product. Still, it is nice that it can be stored so compactly, with the construction being little plastic pipe pieces and the netting. It would be nice if it stayed together and just folded up for storage. The game itself is similar to the style played with bean bags, but instead uses a single dart launched with a rubber band, similar to those flying monkey toys. Actually, this game would be great with a full family of flying monkeys included. Instead, this one finnicky dart is just not sufficient. It isn't a complete lost cause, but honestly the game is more fun if you just grab some spoons from the silverware drawer and toss those instead. In short, a poorly constructed and thought out game that still might be worth a try if you find it on a deep clearance sale. The base could be used for other games that won't abuse it much.

the 3 important features of a backyard game - a failure
I was pretty excited to have another event for backyard barbeques besides volleyball, soccer, and my hot tub. Unfortunately, this product is a potential lawsuit waiting to happen with a pack of rabid kids. The most important qualities of an outdoor activity for kids is: 1. nobody gets hurts 2. adults can get them started and then let them be - returning to bourbon and burgers 3. its fun In terms of #1, these darts are basically weapons. Your kids will shoot the darts at each other. It is insanely painful. Unnecessarily painful. In terms of #2, because the darts are essentially slingshots, a sufficient amount of adult involvement is required. In terms of #3, the game is fun but there is only one dart. I realize that the fine print states there is only one dart but what this means is that you have a horrific game until you purchase additional darts. The manufacturers should know better. Observe how a game operates with a group of kids. You cannot expect a group of kids to patiently wait until a missed dart is recovered and returned. With one dart, this is a slow, trite, boring game. My suggestion is that the manufacturer sell it with multiple darts and design them to be more functional.

The good - The net was easy to assemble
The good - The net was easy to assemble. It's bigger than I expected, but could be partially disassembled for storage. The bad - The Darts with Target only comes with one dart. It does specify that in the fine print, but putting "darts" in the title is misleading. The slingshot type darts started out fun. The ugly - This product drew blood on two of the first three people to try it. First my 8-year-old son asked for a band-aid. He wasn't sure where he got the scrape on his hand but had just been playing with the dart. Then my husband cut himself playing with it. He got a deeper, more obvious wound because he was snapping it with more force. I studied the dart after this and found a sharp spot on the plastic where the arrow is pointing in the picture. Now most of us are afraid to play with this. I think I'll try to file this pointy spot down but if I can't, I'll likely have to throw this thing out. It's a sad waste.

More darts would have been nice
The Franklin flying darts with target is a cool toy. The fabric of the target is about 33 inches wide (across) and 40 inches long (up and down measure). Each of the targets on the corners are about 16 inches in diameter, and the center target is about 9 inches in diameter. Assembly is required, but it is a simple set of instructions to follow. The game is played by shooting the dart 7 to 10 feet away from the target. The dart is foam with a rubber band that is shot like you would shoot a rubber band. The only thing I wish they included were more darts. However, because you can use the target for other games I can deal with it. Made in China.

This thing assembles and disassembles fairly easily, but you'd sort of rather it folded or something to make it even easier to set up when the kids want to play. The dilemma with this product, can you dock stars from a review for a product being what it says it is? This comes with a single dart. It says so on the box. But that's also the reason this is just okay. You need at least 2, and ideally 4-8 to make it any real fun. I've moved to using bean bags for it for my kids.

One dart? Really??
Easy to assembly but isn't built to take much abuse or last that long. The game is fairly fun and would be much more fun if it came with more than one dart. The dart can travel far and fast and could hurt if launched at bare skin at fill power. If anything, the manufacturer should include more darts. If they didn't include more because they were afraid of kids shooting each other then they must of never had kids! Kids will shoot friends with 1 or multiple darts!!
