Couldn't fit the door

The hanger is very cuter and looks sturdy but I could not get it to hang over the door because the hooks were too narrow. My doors are average size not thick at all probably around 2" thick and it wasn't able to use it.

Needs Assembly and Wood is Unfinished Pine!

I received the Franklin Brass Pine Over The Door Storage Rack with Hooks, Pine & Matte Black. When I was sent this item for review, I did not know that it needed assembly. It actually arrived with the 2 pine slats in an unfinished condition. Prep for them took about half an hour. I needed to sand the 2 wood slats, as they were a bit gouged and dented from the zip ties being so tight on them. I also needed to stain the wood 1st. I had expected the darker color wood as shown in the ad photo, but what I received was unfinished pine. The assembly was about a 15 minute job after the pine slats had been sanded, stained and then allowed to dry for a few days. I needed to re-drill the pilot holes on the wood slats for the 4 screws because the holes totally did not line up with the holes on the metal brackets. I'd suppose that the prep and assembly would be around 7 minutes, if you don't mind the lighter, unfinished pine, a few dents, and don't care about the pilot holes. In my opinion, with having to assemble, finish and stain the wood to get this this look like the ad, this should only be about a $10 to $12 item.

Doesn't look like picture, poor finish and assembly required

This door rack doesn't look like the picture. Unfinished cheap wood, missing a screw, too thick to go over doors. . . I could go on, but you are getting the idea. Our home is over one hundred years old, so the doors do not fit tightly against the frames, but you couldn't close the door with this on it. The pegs move around if you jostle it a little.

Kinda cheap

I just thought the stock photos might be a little over glamorized for the quality you actually receive. I just didn't find this worth using on our beautiful hand-stained doors.

Requires assembly

At the time of this review, the product listing does not explicitly say that this product requires assembly. I thought it came fully assembled - not a big deal, but that information should be listed for the consumer. Assembly took only a few minutes. The instructions were clear and the hardware was included. You do need a Phillips head screwdriver to connect the pine strips to the brackets. The individual round “hooks” can be slid in any location along the strips, depending on your needs, which is nice. I really like the design, simplicity, and construction of this product by Franklin Brass. However, the pine strips were scratched and scuffed in transit since the product was only shipped in a poly sleeve and was not protected. In addition, the packaging included very tight cable ties that made indentions in the very soft pine wood. And not knowing that the product required assembly was also a drawback. Otherwise, it works well and kind of has a rustic look.

Looks really good, not so practical!?

In product pictures and in my house from far away this over the door storage rack looks really good! But as I attempted to use it and realized some of the minor drawbacks, became a bit of a nuisance. It’s still a solid four star product and will work in many homes, for me it will take a bit of an adjustment. First off, the door needs a gap on the top, all my doors are super tight and none will close with this rack on top of them. Second, the pegs slide all around which is a bit annoying. Third, only four screws were included, so I need to find two more matching black tiny screws to attach it from the other side to where ever I decide to have its final place to be.

Adds functionality to closet door

I like this rack and am using it on my bedroom closet door. Much easier to hang clothes from these hooks than to balance a hanger from the moulding on top of the door. The rack needs a little assembly, and then just hang over the door. You need to have a little space at the top of the door or it won't close properly. I have just enough room for it to work. However... the rack arrived cracked on one side. We were able to repair it, but one of the knobs no longer slides. Also, the color is different that how it appears in the product photos. My rack is unfinished pine.

Nice Aesthetics. Decent Performance.

This took about 10 minutes to assemble. The quality of the components is good. The finished product is a nice looking and medium grade in strength hanging rack. It hangs over the door without making a lot of noise. If you need a rack that can handle a lot of weight guy you might want to keep looking. For bath towels and robes it works fine.
