Needs some improvement
First time I used the bucket the air tube would not stay attached to the air pump! The air tubing is shipped inside the pump battery compartment and is so tightly coiled that it will not stay in place in the bucket. I carefully used a heat gun to warm the tubing while working the windings out of the tubing so the air stone would lay in the bottom of the bucket were it belongs. I then glued the tubing to the air pump port to keep it in place! Also, there are no instructions as to how to install the batteries and it isn't obvious that the pump requires 4 AA batteries - note that the pump will run with just 2 batteries but not for very long. I learned this the hard way. Final comment is that the battery compartment door is extremely difficult to open!! Based on the above observations I would not purchase this item again.

Great product, works flawlessly!
I was going to buy one of these in the local store and found it cheaper on Amazon. It works perfectly and helps prevent any unwanted spills in the vehicle should you need to brake quickly. Highly recommend!

Nice inexpensive live bait bucket. I usually make my own out of small ice chest but I couldn’t pass this bargain up. Works great.

READ THE REVIEWS
NOTE: I have not used the bucket, yet, so initial rating is 4 stars. Posting review now to summarize some criticisms of other posters. 1. Show of hands - who does not have a black sharpie available? The one fellow in the back with his hand up - ignore this. Figure out battery orientation ( - toward the back) and indicate that with your sharpie. 2. Instructions unclear regarding aerator and plastic hose. After marking battery orientation and loading batteries, replace the aerator with its nub connection through the opening. I.E., do not thread the hose through the opening. Then connect the hose. Doing it this way results in parts fitting comfortably. I see what some have said about the hose falling off ... I used a left over tube of silicone seal and circled the hose after pushing it tight against the lid. Think that will keep it fastened. 3. Amazon price is $14. So, it is NOT the cadillac of minnow buckets ... I'm thinking it will prove to be an excellent value. Note: It IS a best seller. My father had a two piece aluminum minnow bucket for many years. Worked great. Seine minnows, fill bucket with water and minnows, fish. When at a fishing hole or boat stop, take out the liner and put it in the water. Leave attached with cord to outer shell, leaving shell filled with water - the liner doesn't drift away. Before moving to next location, refill shell with fresh water. However, the aluminum conducts temperature effectively. If you go too long between stops to fish, your bait will suffer. THIS bucket is styrofoam lined, so the water temperature will change very slowly. That would be an issue here in Florida. (Hint: It gets warm most days.) Looking forward to catching & fileting some tasty bass and crappie/speckled perch!

Not bad but could be so much better with minor design changes
I just got done using this for 3 days ice fishing in Northern Michigan. It worked pretty well and my buddies thought it was pretty decent for the price. I was using 4 rechargeable NiMH AA batteries and was getting 24-36 hours per set. That's with the bucket being in sub-freezing weather most of the time. For a small minnow bucket it did well keeping the minnows alive. Often, the bucket was in 5-10 degrees F and the aerator kept working well. I never had ice in the water. There is a small slot in the side of the yellow lid that's perfect for storing a small minnow net in. The things I'd like to see changed are: - the design of the lid latch. Clearly, whoever designed this has never been ice fishing. The latch is so hard to get open with gloves on or with cold fingers. The latch needs a larger piece to grab onto. I may drill a hole in mine and attach a string. - the lid has a small lip around it. when water gets in this lip it freezes the lid shut making it even harder to get the lid open. I'll probably drill a few small drain holes. - the design of the battery compartment. The latch on this is also very hard to get open. Not as big of a problem as the main lid latch because batteries only need to be accessed about once per day. But I needed a pocket knife to pry the battery lid open. - access to batteries. I nearly needed needle nose pliers to get the batteries out. The opening to the battery compartment needs to be larger so one can fit fingers in to get the batteries out.. Putting batteries in isn't too bad since they drop in place and need just a light push down.

Annoying lids
It’s a pain in the a** opening the pump lid and the lid for the bait. Goodluck trying to use one hand to try and pry the latch. Horrible design for the kids. Other than that it was great

Good Bucket
Excellent minnow bucket kept minnows alive for 2 days (that’s how long batteries last) Only complaint is battery compartment needs to be labelled better otherwise I’d have given it a 5 star

The media could not be loaded. Funcionó con pilas AA recargables (1.2 V) llegó inmediatamente— trae un recubrimiento de unicel o nieve seca al interior — eso mantiene la temp del agua, sin ser afectada por el sol que calienta el plástico de la cubeta …En otros comentarios dicen que es un problema insertar las baterías, yo creo q no lo es — y q el espacio reducido se puede manipular sin problema — el equipo optimisa espacio para tener mayor cantidad de agua y de carnada viva —- ojo: los polos positivos de las baterías van en la misma dirección — viendo al frente —-La manguera viene dentro del compartimiento de baterías y se instala en la parte trasera del espacio del motor; también se debe ajustar a presión la manguera en una pared interna de la nieve seca o unicel — trae un canal para ese fin — se requiere un desamparador de estrella normal para quitar un tornillo y sacar el compartimiento del motor — lleve siempre un desarmador en su caja de pesca — yo lo volví a instalar pero no lo apreté al 100 — lo dejé en un 50 % — saludos
