First, the picture is misleading, as the "fold-over" is not balanced to the front, rather the notches are both on the outside facing part. Also, the elastic straps were placed in a way that made no sense to how you’d wear this (that is, neither set would go in front of a boot's heel like I’d expected) AND they were ludicrously too small to alllow any adult sided shoe to fit. So, why the four-stars? After a minimum of work – quickly replacing the elastic – I got them to work, and they DID work wonderfully. For the price, I was pleased enough to recommend them, but yeah, know that your mileage may vary.

They are not all brown

Disappointed. I could see the color clearly on my phone but it was listed as brown. These are black with brown accents. I need them for tomorrow so no time to return

Sooo these have the potential to look REALLY good. I highly recommend cutting the straps off of the bottom, and sewing some longer black elastic on to help them fit over any kind of boots or shoes. If you don't do this.. I don't know if they would even fit over your shoes. My man is a size 11 1/2 and was wearing high ankle tennis shoes and they wouldn't go over until we redid them. The cuff around the edge is darker than the picture which in my opinion looks much better. These are great!!

good not great

These are good for what you pay, but the elastic straps are far too small. I could barely fit my bare foot through them, not to mention a shoe or boot. So I just cut them off. But seeing as how I'm not the only one who did this, perhaps the company should rethink their foot straps and/or their elasticity

Better than spending the money on real boots!

Worked great for my boyfriends pirate costume. We were not going to go buy real boots, so these fake boots looked great. He wore them over black dress shoes and that was totally fine. There is a strap that goes around the shoe, but it is impossible to actually get over the shoe, not sure who designed that, but it doesn't work. So we just cut the bottom part of the strap off and let it loose lay over the top of his shoes. Perfect. They stay up just fine.

Just okay.

These are pretty sturdy and realistic looking. The problem I had was the elastic on tje bottom was too short to stretch over my sons size 11 shoes. Fortunately, I'm handy with a sewing machine so I took off the short elastic and replaced it with longer pieces. Problem solved and they look great. We'll see how it holds up after a day at the Renaissance Festival.
