Perfect for the occasional need

Both pieces fit just fine. I normally wear size 12, and xl shirts. I had plenty of room to make it comfy, but it didn't look too big. The quality is pretty good and what I expected for a costume in this price range. It's perfect for the rare occasions when I will need it. The only thing I didn't like about the white piece was the drawstring around the neckline was made of that same white cotton material, and it didn't really lay down smoothly. I had to work with it a little to tie it where it looked neat, but it looked just fine. On the red piece I liked the part across the front that laced, but if I had more time I would probably have replaced it with an extra long shoestring or something that I could lace up in advance and simply tighten. I had very little time to change for my event, and it was a bit cumbersome and time consuming to lace it all up again. However, it looked very nice and I got many compliments.

Great bang for the buck! <3

I bought this for my daughter's birthday, and she adores it! In person, it's a beautiful deeply saturated jewel tone red (and not bright a fire red like the picture). It has ties at the tops of the shoulders and front of the bodice. The fabric is a light stretchy "crushed velvet" polyester that is usually used for costumes. The loops for the laces are a(woven)black bias binding tape/ribbon, that seems to work really well for light use costumes. I suggest lacing the bodice from the top down so the bow hangs off the bottom, as it should. To fit my daughter (who is 5ft tall size 8 dress, A)the "standard size" just needs a little hemming on the bottom (between 2-3 inches)and a tiny tuck at the shoulders to fit her perfect, but it still works and looks very good. My wife (who is 5ft 5in, size 12 dress size, B+) actually tried on the same "standard" size one, and it fit her pretty well without any need for adjustment. We're pretty happy with the costume, and it arrived two days early on top of that. Thanks!

Decent, a bit snug on me (a 20-22)

Decent enough if you buy it at a reduced price. As others noted, it does not include the white chemise, just the red outer part. I'm a 20-22 and it is snug, but if loosely laced will work. By the way, it doesn't arrive laced; there's a piece of black elastic in a separate bag for you to lace it with. The material is very thin, but that's what you'd expect from a Halloween costume. I got it at a pretty low price (price changes a lot), so it was a decent deal for me relative to other plus-size costume prices, but I wouldn't pay over $25 for it.

Short girls take heed

I was quite pleased with the costume and how it fit except I had to wear heels to keep from stepping on it (I'm 5'2"). I received it in enough time for my friend's party, but I didn't get around to hemming it to the right length. My husband helped me with the ties on the shoulders so you may need another set of hands (or tie them to your liking before putting it on). Make sure you order the chemise or that you have a blouse & skirt or dress to wear underneath (I went with a cream colored blouse and a long black skirt). Overall, it was a good buy :)

Fun medieval-style costume!

My wife says: "I usually wear an XL or XXL, but even after drawing the laces as tight as they would go, the bodice was still loose. The fabric is a pretty stretchy velvet, but very thin and not reinforced or boned at all, except right where the loops are. The laces are like thick, flat shoelaces without those plastic end-covers. Overall a fun costume to wear! Please note that this costume only comes with the RED outer dress and not the white chemise."

Good Quality and worth the price.

Be sure to note that this is a one size fits all, so if you are petite, it will drown you. I am a size 18 and it fits very nicely. The white chemise does not come with it, and the cost for it will be about the same as this item so plan accordingly. The material is nice and is very comfortable with no irritating threads or tags. Well worth it as a Halloween base that can be accessorized for different themes.

Exactly as described. Note that it does say the white under dress is not included. I saw it before ordering when I read the description so I got exactly what I ordered. I am a size 16-18 normally so I ordered plus size but probably could've gotten smaller size. There's no gap at the upper lace part but I still looks great. Love the color. I'm 5'5 and flat footed it drags about an inch or two so if you're shorter be prepared to hem (normal for full length costumes I've ever bought!). Will purchase from this company again. Very up front with descriptions and very fast turn around and shipping!!

A comfortable easy costume to wear for a medieval Halloween dinner.

Game of thrones.................look out. I bought this for a medieval Halloween dinner. It came in good condition, and worked beautifully for the event. Price point was good I thought. Also, I washed it in the machine immediately after the event on cold delicate and hung it to dry after tumbling it just a bit. My only wardrobe malfunction is that one of the stays in the corseted part poked through the trim at the lacing, but that can be stitched back if i ever need it again. I also bought the circlet that was shown with it. Perfect costume.

You do NOT get what is shown. My package clearly says "gown" , but only the robe (red part on top) was shipped. VERY disappointed. Will never order again.
