Think of it as a puzzle...
I had to purchase this as a additional piece to my new FoodSaver compact vacuum sealer. The new sealer won't work on canisters (marinating bowls) or canning lids without it, and my prior sealer's parts were not compatible with the newer model. It did take a phone call to FoodSaver to determine which part to buy, but they chose this item and then explained that you have to remove the clear plastic part in order to access the port that will fit the canister end. Both ends will connect snugly when you get them plugged into the right place. I took three photos to clarify - too bad Amazon can only display the message, "Hmmm. That didn't work." rather than a specific, meaningful message on why the photo upload isn't working.

Awesome little vacuum sealer
Used to vacuum seal FoodSaver reseal-able bags…a little bit hard to use, but once you get the hang of it it works great. I removed one star after using a dozen times because of the ridgid coil. My only complaint is the very rigidly coiled air hose. The tubing hose is so tightly coiled that it actually fights you while you're trying to connect to the vacuum. If there was some way to straighten this out it would make the connection so much easier.

Great addition to the vacuum sealer
This adapter is necessary for using food savor reusable zip lock bags and other containers. However you have to hold the hose where it attached to the Food Saver vacuum sealer because the hose is rolled up and pulls away from the sealer. Works well other than that.

Perfect replacement for the original
At first, I thought I was going to have to open the Foodsaver to get to the attachment point but then I noticed that on the end of the hose is a press on joiner which allowed cutting the old hose and pressing the new hose on. This had the added advantage of creating a longer hose.

These are great but the little greens things that plug into the machine are easy to break off. Overpriced for what it is, but.....

Satisfaction after some Adjustment
I knew that it wasn't specifically for my machine with how it would be attached because I had a different model but I was able to attach it with other parts from my machine and it works fine and does the job. I just attach it with an extra length of tubing to my machine and un attach it when I want to use the other vacuum end. Overall it serves the purpose as I couldn't get the attachment my machine came with originally but in the end I get the same results.
