What you need to know is this is the best hose in America.

Lightweight and Almost Kink-Free
I held off from posting about this hose until I actually used it for a while and this summer was a good test. Let me disclaimer that I am not a professional lawn/landscape person and am using this for my own home. And this hose has gotten a good workout with my numerous grass seed lawn projects over the past 3 months. First off, this hose is so light compared to the old Apex house that I replaced. No more dragging the hose all over the lawn as this hose so easily carries, rolls and unrolls on my manual hose caddy. Second, handling this hose takes some getting used to as when under pressure, it has stiffness to it and will “flip” in a way that a traditional hose does not. An example of this is while under water pressure and unrolled from the hose caddy, often the hose nozzle will be in the wrong position for watering so that when I turn the nozzle over to reposition it, the hose itself flips in this floppy sort of motion. And once the hose starts flipping, the nozzle will violently turn with it. So I have learned to take my hand off the nozzle and turn it by turning the hose instead. Nothing wrong with this, it just took some getting used to. Thirdly because this hose is so light and when under water pressure, it is sooo much easier to wind the manual hose caddy than any other hose I have owned…even when the Flexzilla is stretched out to the full 100 feet. Fourth, my hose does not leak anywhere. I have it connected to the hose caddy which leaked all the time with my old hose. I also have no dripping at all where it connects to the hose sprayer nozzle. My primary reason for buying this Flexzilla Pro vs the regular Flexzilla Garden Hose is because it allows me fix the hose with the end repair feature. And one of main reasons why I wanted a Flexzilla to begin with is because of their anti-kink claim. Their disclaimer states that this hose will not kink under pressure but that has NOT been my 100% experience so far. It has kinked under pressure, especially when the hose is extended for any length BUT all I have to do to get the kink out, even at longer lengths, is to tug and flip the hose a few times and the kink does eventually pop out. Only one time did I have to put the hose down and walk all the way back to the kink spot to unkink it. And considering this happened all the time with my old hose, I am very pleased with this feature. So I would actually call this hose 98-99% kink free under pressure. But all in all, I am extremely happy with it. As far as winter storage, I live in heavy snow country so this hose is drained/stored inside for the winter. By the way, a word about the seller…..based on reviews, I paid a little more to buy this hose from eToolsDirect. Can’t say enough good things about this transaction with them as I ordered it on a Sunday and it arrived on Wednesday, 3 days later!

Meanwhile, a few months later...
I was excited to try a drinking water safe hose and paid a premium to get a set of these. An investment of several hundred dollars in total for 4 hoses. This leak happened in the spring cool season. THESE DO NOT LIKE THE SUN! We also religiously drain these after each use. We are in the pacific northwest with a wide temperature range. The hoses were drained and disconnected all winter. Where these hoses connect to the end fittings are constantly bubbling from heat and pressure from normal use. I won't bother with the warranty as flexzilla at best would send a replacement hose and that's not addressing the product flaws. I'm losing about a foot off each end of these every 6 months. I will say, the hose connections are probably the best in the industry. Easy to change and leak free! However these hoses are getting shorter than my dik in December at an unacceptable rate. I'll use them up and move on. Never again will I buy another of these hoses.

Perfect hose for me
I had a really good 100' hose; however, it was so heavy that it was difficult to deal with, especially when it was cool. I had purchased shorter Flexzilla hoses for other areas and loved them. I finally bit the bullet and replaced my long heavy hose with this one. This Flexzilla is such a joy to deal with and so easy to roll back up on the hose reel. The one thing that I have learned is to NOT turn off the water and leave the nozzle closed so that the hose is full of water when I roll it onto the reel. That way, it doesn't flatten on the reel. I can either leave it that way or turn off the water.

Good but not great
Better than most hoses but still plenty of room for improvement. The connections, be careful not to drop them, if you do chances are the soft aluminum threading will get deformed making it very difficult to screw anything onto it. The hose is tough and abrasion resistant, however that makes it a pain to drag around the yard, especially on concrete, it will not slide over surfaces easy it wants to grab onto them. It kinks relentlessly cutting off the flow of water until you straighten it out. I have a ELEY Hose Reel which never gave me problems with any other hose until this one. You are constantly fighting it to get it reeled on nicely, and unless you can lay the hose out in a straight line for 100' be prepared to undo all the kinks which happen as you are reeling it in. Is this the best hose, no, is it the worst, no, by all indications it will last many years just be prepared for some exercise when using it and be mindful of the aluminum hose ends.. Oh and it picks up dirt very easily and imparts it unto your hands when reeling it back up. If I could find an all rubber quality hose I would buy that in a second over this.

Worth every penny
Have had this hose for years now and I leave it outside all year round because I use it water my chickens and clean out their coop. Other hoses I've had seem to fall apart if quickly if you leave them out year-round. I really like the fact that this hose is rated for drinking water. This hose also stays very supple even during freezing temperatures and is very kink resistant. It can kink but not nearly as bad or frequently as most regular garden hoses.. Most garden hoses are not supposed to be used with drinking water so if you have an RV it makes a great hose to hook up to the local spigot for drinking water at the campground as well. Another nice feature of this hose is that they sell the parts to fix it or replace the ends if something happens to them. I have never had any issues with my connectors on it though. One thing I will say though is make sure you buy the Pro version of this hose. The consumer grade versions of it you find at Walmart are not the same quality as the Pro models. As long as you stick with the Pro models you'll be super happy with this hose.
