Unfinished from factory.
All the edges are sharp. I had to take some sand paper to it before using. The carabeaner on it would cut rope instead of helping with lift.

High quality works great
Very glad that I got these play. Makes picking up logs so easy. I do have one suggestion you might want to wear steel toed shoes because if you’re carrying a round and it happens to slip you’ll be glad you had on the steel toes.

Bought this cuss i heat year round with firewood. Day i got it tryed it on the wet hard maple transfer all the hevy lifting to your arm and shoulder muscles making moving firewood as easy as packing bags in your car. My wife tryed it once and i had to order one for me agin she wont do firewood with out it ever worth the buy. Only thing i adjusted was the ponit few stokes of a file on the side to give a point and its ready to rock

Not the Fiskar quality I expected
The media could not be loaded. I'm going to start this review by saying I have many other Fr. iskar products, so as I review this particular product I'm trying to hold it to the standard of other Fiskar products such as the axe and Sledgehammer which I already own on top of a pair of scissors and a few other things. And my thoughts on those products are very high because I'm definitely satisfied with the other products I have purchased from them! But this little thing is leaving a heck of a lot to be desired from them and from the tool itself! I also want to mention that I own a identical style of tool from a different company and they come in different sizes and I am very satisfied with those I just wanted to add one of these to the Arsenal to make it easier to pick some of the stuff up with two hands. I just want to get into some pros and cons and get right off to it! We'll start with the pros... Pros - I love the handle! Fiskars has always had a great handle designs along with great feel of the rubber that goes on the handle! It has a nice rubbery sticky feel on the color of the orange and has a comfortable ergonomic shape! One of the only things I really like about this product. - Sharp! The spikes at the bottom of the hooks have quite a point on them! And that comes in very handy when you are trying to pick up heavy logs especially ones with very dense structure because if it's not sharp it does not penetrate into the wood! -Hold! That little finger Notch that sticks out works really great for holding the clamp open when you need it to stay open! Sometimes if you're not holding that the device tends to close on itself and that can become a pain when you're trying to get it around larger objects and that little Notch lets you put your finger on it and hold it open! Cons - Construction! This thing was not constructed very well! The for mechanically pressed rivets are done very sloppily! Whoever press them did not press them down all the way which gives the device way too much play in between the pieces of metal! One of the rivets on mine almost looks like it hasn't been stamped at all and pretty much wants to fall out of the hole! I'm sure if I pressed it hard enough I could get it to pop out easily and that should not happen! -Stiff. I don't know what the texture is exactly on this blade or if that's a coating but with his loose as the rivets are and the thing literally feeling like it's going to fall apart in my hand you would think that the gravity part of it would allow it to open and close super smoothie but that is highly the opposite case! I'll pick the thing up and it stays exactly where it is. I open it and it stays open when I close it it stays closed and there is nothing you can do to adjust that! The pair that I have the moment that I tip my handle off to the side the thing opens right up and then when I tip at the other way it closes again on itself with absolute zero effort and this one just does not close at all which defeats the purpose of it using gravity to close itself when it doesn't close and you have to try to close it yourself. -Case. I don't know what the deal is with this case but it's pretty cheap! I would have rather have paid $5 less then to give me this cheap case which holds the thing in there very Loosely and doesn't secure it in any way to the case! Either way it just doesn't seem like it has a point. All in all honestly if the thing didn't look like a child put it together at least with it being as Loose as it is and rivets not being pressed together properly and if it moved freely like my other ones I think this would probably be the best one that I own but simply for the fact that I hold it to such high standards being from the company that it does I am extremely disappointed in this and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody I would probably recommend looking up theHUSQVARNA CHAINSAW ARBORIST TIMBER LIFTING TONGS 20CM - LOGS of one if that's still an option even though I have not used that one but the reviews are much better!

Back saver extraordinaire!
If you make a couple of adjustments you will have a priceless addition to wood splitting. First was epoxying to rare earth magnets as shown in the photo and second was filing the points of the tongs to a razor sharp point so the tongs bit into the chunk of wood without slipping off.

Only good for smaller logs
I'm on the fence about this purchase, I wish I could have got the bigger one but I was unable to find it. This is a decent enough product, I really like Fiskars tools, but many logs I find harder to pick up with them still, and if a log is still within the size of the limits, it still might be hard to grip on to lift. As such, it seems really only better for smaller logs. Good to have in my toolbag for firewood tasks just in case though. I got the hookaroon as well, as that is what I would recommend buying if only getting one.

Transformed wood stacking from pain to pleasure
These reduce back strain in firewood processing far more than I was expecting. I also have a 'LogOx' on order that promises to involve even less bending but these are pretty impressive. I'm mainly stacking pre-split firewood in triangular, square, and half-round shapes - all on the smaller side. Slight quality control issue - I bought two sets - one is super loose and the jaws drop open - the other is tighter and the jaws need to be moved by hand - don't know which is better yet but the fact that they're different is a concern. I might update later when I learn what the implications are.

Making life easier
I have been waiting for awhile to get these tongs to help me when sorting out my fire wood, glad i found them on Amazon. Don't know how i survived before, these tongs are great and are making my collecting and stacking work a lot easier.
