UV housing leaking

When I received the filter and opened the box and the filter looked great. I pulled it out of the box and went to install it and it was a good thing I knew how to install one because the directions suck. So after hooking it up and turned it on it started leaked out from under the UV housing so I opened it up and found out it was missing the O-Ring. So I installed a 3" O-Ring re-installed the housing and it quit leaking. Now the filter is working great. ***New update *** 2/20/21 This pump is still doing a GREAT JOB and we just went thru a winter storm that got down to -15° and 8" of snow and it ran the whole time. What I did was big a hole in the ground ( just below the ring on the filter ) then set in place and push the dirt back in the hole . I then took thick foam pipe wrap and wrapped the hoses. I also bought a fake rock that was big enough to cover the filter and insalated it with a bat of installation. I also went to bigger pump to pump more water per hr.

Not happy

Update DO NOT BUY A JEBAO!!!! I contacted customer service and they never responded so Amazon did give me a refund. I was so excited to get this. After I figured out the stupid bio disks it worked like a charm. My pond was so clean. Well—- that lasted about a week. Went outside and my pond was almost drained . A 3500 gallon pond!!!! Thank god it had enough water left so my koi were fine. The locking bracket that goes around the lid and the can leaks or should I say gushes. I am a week outside of my return window so Amazon won’t help me. They gave me customer service email to contact jebao. Great no response what so ever.

Subpar filter

One week with this and I'm ready to return it. The older model was very "hook-up" friendly, this one is not. They changed the connectors to 2" from 1.5" and the locations for intake and cleaning output are so tight you have to use their trashy connectors that leak (ever so slightly) and seem flimsy. The bio-balls are a joke and can only be placed along side the filter. To do this you must carefully lift the filter just enough that you can dump them in without getting them under the filter. Pain in the butt. Last issue is that the cord is shorter than the previous cord so I have to use an extension. If anyone has suggestions on hose connection that would be great. Very disappointed with this unit.

Works great, cleaning sucks

I have a new approx 1500 gal koi pond and realized a mechanical filter doesn’t cut it so I bought this. This killed the algae within 48 hours, it clears dirt and debris well too. Problem is it has to be cleaned every week or two or it stops working well. It comes with a handle to pull up and squeeze the filter when backwashing but it doesn’t work well. I end up removing the entire filter from the container and pressure washing it to get all the dirt out.

Good until it leaks.....

If you plan on really cleaning this you will have to open it. backwash works but not well. Now that you have it open, good freaking luck closing it again. also good luck on getting it to not leak. If you want a good one that won't leak or explode buy AQUASCAPE. Their customer service is great because I got the wrong one and they fixed it right away. The reason you are looking at this is because its cheap, just keep that in mind when purchasing.

Awesome filter would purchase again!!

I am very pleased with my filter. Was kinda worried because of the bad reviews. I hooked up this filter to my pump for my 2000 gallon koi pond. Before I hooked it up the water was a brown green and had tried other filters and algae killer but nothing worked and it stayed this way untill i hooked this filter up. Within a week i could see the bottom of the pond and within 2 weeks I could see every detail. Looking back at the bad reviews I realize that the majority of them was because of user error. I would definitely recommend this filter and would purchase again UPDATE .. 6 months of non stop filtering... this filter is still running like new and is still keeping my pond clear. UV light still working and i have had zero issues. WHAT AN AWESOME FILTER !!

Update dont buy junk

Bought this one used from Amazon warehouse to save $27. Light quit working with in 2 days. Amazon support was useless. Since it's allready hooked to my pond I can't just unhook and send it back or I won't be able to run my pump during the process. Ended up haveing to buy a new one and will send this one back when it arrives. Hopefully the new one will work better. Update got the second one light quit working within a couple hours contacted Amazon and they wanted to give me $30 back out of the $202 I paid. Finally they gave me $40 and I bought a new light bulb for 39.50....new light came today and still don't work.

Awesome purchase, time saver, works great

Bought this to replace my manual clean filter that never really did the job. Last year despite all efforts (mechanical, water clear, algae clear, vacuuming, etc...) we had cloudy water, and enough algae you couldnt see the bottom of our pond. After install and just feeding the fish our 900-1000 gal pond is crystal clear with no additional work. This filter lasts a while before needing to be cleaned using the super easy handle pump action (without the disassembly req. Of our old one). Diverter nob does give some issue here and there but only if i dont shut the system down first. Item was alot bigger then expected but shipped super quick.
