Slightly wider than other brands I've used before
Works fine but had to really force it in place, which resulted in bending a section of the filter. The other brands I've used always fit like a glove. Weird!!

Worth it
I live in an area with a lot of monsoons and dust. Using other filters I had dust on a very large scale coming in and being spread throughout the house every day. Not only are these extremely sturdy and hold up but the spread of dust and anything else has been cut back by at least 90%. I have these set up on a four month rotation and I will not change. Well done great product.

Great filter, but consider extra load on your blower
I've been buying Filtrete filters for my house for the past 15 years, and for a long time I kept moving up to higher MPR ratings as they released them. While they may be expensive compared to other filters, something that I love about Filtrete is the consistent quality - I always know what I've going to get, and I know that it's going to be good. These filters are no exception. Very well made, with great filtering. 2200 is the highest MPR that I've purchased, and after using four of them, I've decided to back down a bit. The reason is that, while I can't say for sure, it sounds like my blower is working a bit too hard to pull air through these. That's a function of my system and may not represent any issue with yours, but I just want to make a note to pay attention to that. After years of using higher and higher ratings, I've actually stepped down to theFiltrete Micro Allergen Defense Filter, MPR 1000 . They seem to work fine in my house, and they are easier on my system. So, yes - these are fantastic filters. They truly work great. I stopped using them because I was worried that they might reduce the life of my blower, but my system is about 17 years old. With newer systems, that might not be an issue at all, and the filtration is great.

Seems like overkill until....
Spouse has bad dust mite and woodsmoke allergies. We've been buying the filtrete filters for some time, to help clean up the indoor air during heating season and filter air during the rest of the year (using furnace to circulate air when pollen bloooms). In conjunction with our IQAirPro this really helps keep our indoor air quality up to snuff. When you first put this one on your furnace you will be able to tell the first time your furnace turns on. Stale and musty always seems to disappear in a few minutes.... If you have filthy ducts and don't do other things to keep your dust and dander down, a brand new filter like this will only work for a very short time. Compared to the 1900 filters there IS a difference in this one. Smells will come out of your air and you will smell EVERYTHING that's been hiding below threshold! (we call it smell abatement, right after a filter change, to go find the culprits that weren't noticed before and deal with them) If you have someone in your house that's really sensitive, these are worth the extra and it is noticeable. If you have someone in your house that is really sensitive, these may not go the 3 months, so buy a few and always keep one on hand. They are fully plastic wrapped and sealed so they will 'keep'. I would recommend the Filtrete brand, they have been a quality product. Not all ultrafine filters are the same and these are ones that WORK. Do make sure you make note of the 'air flow direction' arrows on the side of the filter and install them with the proper orientation.

Turn central air into a low-cost high-volume air purifier. 2200 MPR is the second best filter by 3M. You breathe much better.
I highly recommend the Filtrete 2200 MPR filter because : (1) 2200 MPR(micro particle rating) is the highest quality AC filter 3M makes, after the new 2400 MPR. This is roughly equivalent to a MERV 14 rating. The higher the MPR, the higher the percentage of particles between 0.3 and 1 micron, captured by fliter. You can not buy this at Walmart, Home Depot, Target etc, Lowe's etc. (2)Turn your central cooling/heating system into a high-volume air purifier. $20 for a filter is much less expensive than spending $150 to $600 for a good high-volume air purifier with a 200 CADR or more. CADR is the abbreviation for Clean Air Delivery Rate. The higher the CADR, the higher the volume of air filtered. (3) My AC uses 18 inch x 18 inch. I buy the 20x30, cut the 20 inch side to 18 inch. I use it as 2 filters. (4)The filter turns light brown color after 1 week, so you know it is removing dusts from the air. (5)My sinus congestion is not as bad after 3 days of use.
