Love this yarn

ERROR IN THE LISTING! PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!
I purchased 3 skeins of Louiville Julep. The listing WORDS do not indicate how many yards per skein. The 3rd photo down indicates there are 106 yards per skein. So 3 skeins was fine for my project. The skeins arrive and they are only 81 yards per skein. I have had to scramble and order more. Surprised this happened as the listing is by the Lion Brand store. I expected them to know their product specifics. The yarn itself is very nice, and once I have enough for my project I will enjoy working with it.

Works up quickly
I was surprised how quickly I finished an ear warmer using this yard. The colors were a bit off from the listing, that was to be expected. I was shocked with how soft this yarn felt. It is warmer that other yarns I used to make war warmers.

Beautiful dark teal color (not as light as picture).
This was only my second crochet project so maybe I bit off more than I could chew. I heard you should stick with smaller yarn when you are starting out. But, I wanted a thick scarf! Still, I learned quickly and got the hang of it eventually. The color of this teal yarn is beautiful. It looks less "Lake Tahoe Blue" in real life. The product picture looks a little green when in real life it's bluer and darker as well. It's luxurious-looking though, but I wouldn't suggest it for beginners to crochet. If you aren't used to it, the thick threads can start to come a part. I got used to it though. Also, I ran into a knot and was so confused. I contacted a crochet guru friend of mine who said that is normal. She did warn me though that if I run into another knot in the same skein, then I should contact the manufacturer. I haven't gotten even halfway through my yarn yet, but will update here if it happens again. I made a doggy scarf because I knew Shiloh the Pomeranian wouldn't complain about the scarf being lumpy or loose in places. ;) Overall, I love this color and look. Super cozy and soft. I can't wait to make my mom a scarf.

So soft (and an update)
I am in love with the Hometown USA yarn line, and Lake Tahoe Blue is my favourite. The yarn is so extremely soft and and fluffy and light so the final results are so satisfying! I've gone through three skeins of Lake Tahoe Blue and have come across one slightly thin, weak spot. Otherwise, it's pretty even and consistent. The colours are gorgeous - it's not just solid blue. Lots of light, subtle green, yellow, and purple make it a "peacock" theme. Just gorgeous and it works up so quickly into the quickest shawl possible. Update: I made a baby blanket for my sister using this yarn - my FIRST large finished project ever. I went through, I think, 5 skeins. In all 5 of the ones I used for the blanket, there were two little mangled areas that I had to cut out from the skein. I expect that from fluffy yarn like this, though. All 5 were also of the same dye lot but the colour variations vary from skein to skein and even within the same skein. I LIKE this effect, though. You might be able to see in one of my pictures that some rows have more yellows and green while some rows have more purples and blue shades. It just adds more interest. (New York White, also of the Hometown USA line, is the other colour in my blanket).

Not the color as shown in the picture! I got the Durham woods for the blue tones and it doesn’t have any like the picture does. More of a gray tone.

Love the colour, love the feel of this yarn and more importantly it is indeed chunky, which is exactly what I wanted. Took a wee while to ship but it is worth it!
