Honest Likes Vs. Dislikes
Likes: used along with the Chi Silk product it straightened and curled my hair and my daughters hair beautifully and it lasted for days which does not usually happen with other flat irons. They were telling the truth about the benefits of using ceramic tourmaline floating plates. With other irons the curls would droop within the hour and the hair would appear dry and thirsty. So, I was surely pleased with the styling outcome! Dislikes: the handling! It was quite difficult and frustrating to maneuver the Chi 3-in-one iron without constantly hitting the on/off button and settings button. I literally had to readjust the settings or turn it back on after every curl. It was a really poor choice of placement for the buttons and the buttons are very sensitive to the touch. In addition, the curl feature did not quite work the way I anticipated. The curls you see in my daughters hair was just by using the smooth feature and by maneuvering the iron in the same manner as any other basic flat iron. For us, the curl feature was useless. Therefore, I probably could have saved money and just bought the original Chi ceramic tourmaline flat iron for about $20-$30 less. But because of the awkward buttons, I struggled to decide between 3 or 4 stars.

Works so well!
I am no expert in curling my hair but this curling iron works very well. I've had a Chi flat iron for years and was happy with it but since I've never gotten the curling with flat iron down, I gave this a try. If I had more experience with hair I'd probably be able to do a lot with it, but I do sometimes wish I had gotten a Chi curling iron to manage it better as a beginner. Overall though It heats up fast, curls evenly and leaves hair shiny and bouncy not fried looking. I can definitely tell the difference between this and a cheap drugstore curling iron.

Died after 1 year of use
Completely died, I tried using multiple outlets and it wouldn't work. At first, it was really nice but I was really disappointed by it not working after only a year of having it and using it less than 10 times.

Great!
Love love love this appliance! My hair is white and very easy to burn, resulting in “blonde” hair. I can control the temp of this so my hair doesn’t burn. Then there’s the curling iron part of this. Ingenious! I use it more for a flat iron. It’s a Chi. What else do you need to know? Great product!

Not Impressed
Got this with high hopes. Total let down. Only curled as a wand. Only gave minimal uneven wave. However, the straightening aspect did work wonderfully. The black tip that is suppose to stay cool definately didn't as by the burn blisters I have on my finger tip and thumb from one quick touch. I have used other CHI products and loved them. This one is going right back.

Hoping it lives up to my last one
So my first Chi flat iron I purchased in 2011 and it still works perfectly!!! My hair has gotten a lot longer so I was looking for a straightener that will also curl my ends for when I wrap it at night (afro american hair). I hope this one works well for that. The key to making the iron last is to keep the cord straight ladies!!! Only wrap it the way it should be, never around the iron itself for storage. Hope this works just as long!!

Hard to Use on Short Hair
The iron heated really good & the straightener worked great. I wanted an iron that I could straighten & curl my hair with & not have to take two separate tools when I travel. I found the curling iron part hard to use on my hair, which is short. I could not hold it together & turn it to get a curl. I tried it a few times to see if I needed to get used to it, but still never liked the result. I wish it worked better on me because it was what I was looking for. I'm sure for those with longer hair it would work great. I couldn't give it a bad review because it is a nice iron, I just couldn't get the hang of it.
