Base not flat.
At this price point you’d expect the base to actually be flat. It can be fixed by sanding it yourself until it’s flat. But one should not have too at this price. Should be $80.

This iron is a great value.
Great temperature control, lays out the wax well

Good iron
Used this for applying aircraft fabric. Work required changing temps based on process step. The small metal 'ratchet' assembly failed soon after starting use. This meant the temp knob moved freely and could be bumped/changed without notice. The vendor and factory offered to replace the entire unit, but since the part was more or less user replaceable, I had them ship a replacement part. Back working, but the 'spring' is so tiny and weak, it will be prone to breakage again. Needs to be redesigned.

Solid and accurate
I got this Toko T14 for the purpose of shrinking aircraft fabric, so temperature control and accuracy is important to me. The unit I received was the (correct) USA version. Since there are some reviews bashing the temperature control here, the first thing I did upon receiving it was to measure the temperature independently. Note: I've seen several reviews here saying that their electronic non-contact (IR) thermometers showed low temperatures, and they assumed they got bad units. It's important to know that unless you have an IR thermometer which you can adjust for different emissivities, it will NOT be accurate on this (the simple, non-adjustable IR thermometers are only accurate for measuring opaque surfaces - not unpainted metal, silver, reflective surfaces, etc. For more info on this, see: https://www.flukeprocessinstruments.com/en-us/service-and-support/knowledge-center/infrared-technology). This was immediately apparent to me when I set my Toko to 135C (275F), and read about 116F with a cheap, non-adjustable IR thermometer I had sitting around. I retrieved my multimeter, plugged in a Type-K thermocouple, and pressed the end against the base of the Toko iron with a bit of pressure. The indicated temperature stabilized at about 276F, which indicated that the temperature indication on my T14 was dead on. While the unit itself feels solid and well-built, the temperature control dial feels rather cheesy, with a sort of "ratcheting" type feel that feels loose and inconsistent. It has a feel about it like it's maybe not going to last as long as the rest of the unit. The other "gotcha" is that if you set a temperature, let it stabilize, then turn it down to something lower, the green LED signifying that temperature is good will remain lit, and the only indication you'll have that you're down to what you selected is when it starts cycling on and off again at that new temperature. So it's more of a "temperature is AT OR ABOVE your selected value" rather than "temperature is AT what you selected". Without keeping an eye on this, you could easily burn something not knowing that it's a lot hotter than what you wanted.

Best bang-for-your-buck digital iron for cross-country ski waxing
If you're like many cross-country skiers, you started off with an economy iron from Swix, Toko, or [misc. brands]. These are functional, and will work sufficiently for softer waxes or anything as cold as Blue. However, if you're working in any harder wax than that, you're probably going to waste a lot of wax, time, and energy trying to get it into your ski. This is because economy wax plates are thinner, lose their heat rapidly, and are difficult to gauge the temperature of. I spent the better part of 15 years getting by with this type of iron and, while it does technically "work", waxing often became a very tedious chore due to my iron's shortcomings. Enter the Toko T14 iron in this review: waxing is fun again. The difference between this iron and the standard entry-level Swix iron is immediately apparent. The #1 feature on this iron is the digital display that shows the current plate temperature and, when adjusted, the target temp. This allows you to accurately dial in the right temp for your wax, which is key to not wasting wax or burning your ski base. The second thing to note is how much better this plate holds its heat. When running the iron down the ski to melt in the wax, it barely loses any heat at all and you see a consistent melt from tip to tail. Additionally, the heat is very even across the entire plate. This differs from the economy irons which lose their heat quickly and typically have a plate surface which is hotter on one side or the other, causing a need to put more or less pressure on different sides of the iron and make more melt-in passes. TL;DR: If you are considering your first XC wax iron or an upgrade from an economy iron, this should be your first choice.

Works well
Works so much better than a recycled clothes iron. No smoking wax, no constant fiddling with ineffective temperature controls. Seemed to hold temperature well when flowing out the wax. Buy once, cry once - should have upgraded from the clothes iron years ago.

Even temperature ensures correct was melting without fumes.
I liked that the temperature setting is stable. It is a little too hard to change the iron's temperature for a different wax.

Keeps exact heat for as you work so you don’t burn
This iron is unnecessary unless you planning on multiple boards to wax then it’s completely necessary. So as you work and use the cheaper basic irons they get hot and develop odd heat or cold spots as you wax and when your doing one board that’s usually not a big deal as your not using it long enough for that to be a problem but if you planning to wax your whole quiver and you don’t want an iron that was fine on the first one and now smokes the wax on the second because it’s too hot then this Toko iron is the one for you. The Toki digital iron keeps the heat set and even and I can do 3-4 boards at a time and it won’t let me down, the digital monitors shows you how hot it is set to and keeps it there.

Simple to use
This iron was an upgrade to my old home use iron. Now being able to easily set the appropriate temperature, having an even heat distribution, and being a smaller form factor this iron has made waxing more pleasurable

Stable and works well
Very happy so far. Just used it once on 4 pairs of skis but it worked very well. No smoking and temperature held solid

Stop working after the summer
I bought it at the end of the season in April. It worked fine, but stop working without any reason. Only a 3 month warranty with Amazon ! I’m screwed ! Can’t return it ! Don’t buy!

Fonctionne bien content d’avoir l’affichage de la temperature
Chauffe bien et rapidement. Base un peu instable quand on le dépose sur l’etabli.
