NOT THE SAME CLOCK AS THE ONE IN THE PHOTOS
The clock on the LEFT is our old Equity 31003 alarm clock. It looks like the same clock thats in the photos in the Amazon ad, right? But lo and behold - what we received was the clock on the RIGHT, which is VERY different! They both say "Model 31003". The screen is about the same size, but the whole clock is shorter, narrower, lighter, and a cheaper plastic. Maybe some will prefer the smaller, lighter profile but we much prefer the original, and disappointed that the clock doesn't match the ad photos!

Almost Exactly What I Was Looking For!
All I wanted was a small, simple clock that runs off one AA battery and tells me what time it is - this one fills the bill! My only quibble is the blue backlight - which stays on only as long as you press the snooze and not one second longer (this is a positive for me) - is just way too bright. I cracked it open and put a 10k ohm resistor in series with the LED and now I'm a happy snoozer. It could be improved in other ways like a quietly operating snooze button (ALL the buttons on this clock are quite clacky), and maybe up/down buttons instead of just up. But for super cheap and being almost exactly what I was looking for amongst a sea of sub-optimal fluff, I really can't complain too much. Mine is currently running like a champ with a rechargable NiMh AA cell, and that's another positive.

Great, small travel clock
Got this as a replacement for a nearly identical Equity clock I've had for more than 20 years. It still works, but is wearing out. The new clock has a very bright blue light which illuminates the time when you press the button. I prefer the old white light version. I do like the fact that the clock only illuminates when you press the button. Hope this lasts as well as the old one has.

Not the Same as the First one I Bought - Stopped Working After 3 Months
I bought an Equity compact clock about 15 years ago and the thing was awesome! Worked like a champ everyday giving the correct time. It finally stopped working. So I hunted around Amazon looking for another one. Bought this one. It was a little bigger than the original but same brand so I assumed it would be just as good as old faithful. Nope. The display on one side went out after only 3 months so it was literally impossible to know what time it was. So disappointed I wasted my money. Nothing to get excited about
I was looking for a small and low-profile alarm clock that doesn't light up unless I choose to push a button to check the time in the night. This one fits that description, but I am otherwise unhappy with the clock. The buttons and switch/lever are very difficult to push/slide, and the numbers change ever-so-slowly when I am re-setting the time or the alarm. The only way to change the numbers faster is to keep pressing the difficult-to-push buttons repeatedly and rapidly, causing it to go "click, click, click" with each push (often while my spouse is trying to sleep). As for the sound of the alarm, I hear it just fine, even though we sleep with a fan on for white noise. When I reach to turn off the alarm, it slips around on my night stand because it is so lightweight and the lever is so difficult to slide. I usually end up just picking the clock up and sliding the lever with my other hand. I intend to look further for the perfect alarm clock to replace my last one, but this one will suffice in the meantime. The price was reasonable, but you know what they say...you get what you pay for.

This item is SUPER TINY
It works perfectly and I'm glad I got it, but I want to warn all readers of reviews that this is one small little tiny clock! Fits in the palm of my hand. But it's easy to set alarm and time, the snooze is easy to hit, the alarm is loud enough to wake me, no complaints. Edit, August 17, 2016: Have owned this just under 3 years, it died last night, cannot set the minutes for alarm or time, no matter how hard I try, battery still operational. Am disappointed. I believe a clock should last longer than 3 years.

Perfect small clock.
Great small clock. Have one in each bathroom and bedroom. The front of this Equity La Crosse 31003 clock have the perfect angle, readable when standing right above it I like that it is dark at night unless you puss the top bar. The top bar illuminates nicely the numbers for night reading. My prior one lasted over 18 years. I wish they would make the white version. see photo of the white and black. keep accurate time - 1xAA battery last long

Size matters
Probably my fault for not really reading all the specs. But I assumed this was a small clock for my mom in a nursing home, Who needed something smaller, but large enough display to see. Not sure that I was ready for HOW small it is. More of a travel/ suitcase alarm. Fits in the palm of my hand. Not a standard plug in clock as I assumed. I’m sure the functionality is good. But I felt that the size should have been clearly disclosed.
