Lived under this Tarp for 3 weeks in the wild
I bought this tarp to go with my tent; but due to circumstances you will only find the in US Army I ended up only using this tarp as a tent/shelter for 3 weeks. It worked great in multiple rain storms and even with windy conditions. I used a hiking walking stick and 2 bungie cords with some tent stakes/paracord for stability... It really is a good tarp.... what else can I say.

a great tarp no question (until it rains really hard)
Just returned from a four day outing. I am very happy with this tarp. I have the 10x12 which i found great for my use over my hammock. it's a bit larger than most but I wanted the extra coverage and an option to close the ends if needed. The trap was stuffed in a dry bag i purchased separately. it comes out wrinkled, but nicely smooths out quickly when erected. I used it in a square tent fashion over a ridge-line. almost silent in the wind without that annoying crinkle of cheap tarps. We had temps ranging from 32 through 80 degrees, no sags, no fuss and it held up in 35+ mph wind gusts. we had no rain but each night a heavy dew, not a single drop came through and a quick shake cleaned it all off prior to packing. Very nice! packed along with tree straps, ridge line, whoopie slings, ENO double nest hammock and caribiners everything is about the size of a soccer ball. Update April 2015: After a new outing, the tarp started to drip along pretty much the entire seam. It held up for a few hours in pretty good rain, but the outer shell becomes waterlogged and I got misted along random sections of the tarp. the next day we dried the tarp and applied some camp dry. that didn't help. I 'll need to seam-seal the tarp and I'm not going to rely on this for wet weather in the future. I didn't get soaked but I was a bit disappointed after only two trips to get wet in my hammock. My companions on this trip used snugpak shelters and not one dripped, and none had the water logging issue either. I'll get that for the wet while using this for drier trips.

Decent Tarp Some Minor Issues With Leaking Seams
Pros: Nice and Large, fit well over our tent, light weight and easy to handle. Dries quickly. Is quiet material in the wind which is a plus. Cons: This one leaked a bit at the seams not a lot, but a bit. Don't know if I was supposed to water proof it like I would a tent or not by sealing the seams with a sealer or if I was supposed to wet it down and let it dry before using it? There was not a lot of water; but I expected it to be a fully water proof cover for my tent. In one section I could see the drips through my tent roof. My tent did not itself leak but I could see the water trail on my tent roof from the tarp. I will spray it when the weather here gets better and try it out again and see if that fixes the problem. Oh, and all the nicely sewn seams on all four sides collected water in them, which had to be squeezed out, they were like little water channel balloons, apparently the rain water runs down the sides and collects and seeps through the hem stitching filling the hems with water. The material is on some level water proof enough; that you have to really squeeze out the hems to get the water out. It doesn't leak out. Which I guess is good.... LOL! So again I will spray ALL the seams that are sewn together areas and see if this takes care of the problem. I will update after I do this. Over all I much prefer this material to the plastic tarps you buy at hardware stores because of the flexibility of the material and quietness of it. Since it was not a major leak my tent stayed dry in a very very heavy downpour.

Great.
Totally satisfied. I use for hammock camping and its great. Been through some serious storms and has kept me high and dry!! Great product for the money. Update: When I was using a grand trunk hammock the 8x10 worked fine with the ridgeline being 10', giving me 4' on either side. There is a center grommet, so setup in this configuration was easy. In fairer weather I set it up with the ridgeline running from corner to corner giving a diamond configuration. This let me enjoy the view of the woods better, but I would not set it up this way if rain is expected as it gives less coverage at the head a feet. A larger size will offer more coverage, but these are heavy tarps, so it may be worth looking at some of the tarps offered by the cottage companies like warbonnet jacksrbetter and hammock gear, if you are thinking of going bigger than 8x10. Also check out hammockforums.net if you havn't already. They have great advice. I eventually made myself a larger hammock (10.5' long) so I upgraded to the Warbonnet "Superfly". I highly recommend the 8x10 equinox as an entry level tarp for hammock camping. It may be a bit on the heavy side, but its affordable, will keep you covered and dry if you have a "normal sized" hammock, and is tough as nails. I still use it whenever I take someone that doesn't have a hammock camping setup and it still works great. Had mine for 3-4 years now and is in great shape.

Tough as nails and slick as heck and lightweight.
These are great. I got one to cover my mattress when I'm not home as the dog kept doing what ever it is dogs do and ripping my bottom bed sheets. the 6x8 will barely cover a queen sized bed. I got some sheet holders to hold it in place. This thing is so slick the sheet holders I got have a hard time holding onto it. When used for what it's intended for it would shed rain very well and provide shade. It's very light weight a backpacker or other use where it's necessary to travel light would include this in their pack. They are a little pricey but worth it. My crazy pit that puts his claws through everything has so far only put one very tiny hole in it probably when he's getting after an itch and his paws are sliding on the tarp. I'm happy with it, probably buy the larger one next time worth the money if it's made as well as this one. There is a seam in the tarp it's not one piece of fabric but it's double sewn and lapped should not leak or easily rip out.

Looking forward to using it
I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but it feels strong, it is light, and time will tell if it's waterproof.

Falls apart - not very durable
Used it to cover a chiminea - fell apart along the seams in 3 months.
