Measure carefully!

I just installed this floor outlet in a finished hardwood floor. I like the way it looks and that it hides the outlets when not in use. However, there is a problem with the installation instructions. In Step 1 for wood subfloors and hardwood floors, the instructions say to use the included template to cut out the hole for the box and rout 3/8" deep for the outer tabs. However, the tabs are wider than the outside of the cover, so if you cut the floor as directed, the cuts and tabs would be exposed on the outside of the cover and look terrible! Luckily I caught this before I cut the pockets for the tabs and I was able to figure out a work-around. I imagine most people installing this are putting in the box during new construction or before installing hard flooring so it's not an issue.

Perfect way to add an electrical outlet to a large island!

I bought two of these. One I had an electrician install on my brand new quartz island countertop and the other I'm holding should anything happen and I need another one - nothing like having a hole in your countertop that you can't find an exact match for. Anyway, the electrician had absolutely no problem installing it and it works like a charm. It's beautiful and I've already received compliments on it - recently from one of the subcontractors who also does remodeling. He wanted to know where I got it so I sent him the link. I couldn't be happier with this product.

Nice design. Nice fit and finish.

Great modern design and looks. I had a slight challenge to install in my concrete slab replacing an older round box, but got it done. The two small screws that hold the latch needed to be sanded shorter, but other than that small adjustment, all went well. I like the spring loaded mechanism. All you need is to slide the latch with your foot to pop it up.

Great kitchen island feature

We just installed a kitchen island and made a great choice using this Enerlites box. We were concerned about the safety with an electrical outlet on the side wall of the island and grandkids putting something into an outlet or pulling on an appliance cord. The box-1) looks great, 2) is convenient, and 3) provides safety. It installed pretty easily. We hardwired the box to a GFCI outlet inside the sink base cabinet. We like it and guests have too. We also installed push button air switch for the garbage disposal which is nice.

Latch to open gets stuck. Box needs proper spacers underneath to prevent over tightening of the screws which in turn make the latch stick and you are unable to open the plug.

Mounted perfectly on the side of a kitchen island. Product is solidly built, somewhat heavy. The spring that flips the panel open is quite strong, so you have to keep your fingers out of the way when you pop the panel to access the sockets. I had the boxes professionally installed.
