A nice spalike treatment
I was introduced to the Elemis dry brush while on a cruise ship. I'd never heard of dry brushing until then. The experience was invigorating, and it left me feeling relaxed. I couldn't afford the brush at the time, so I was so happy to find it on Amazon for less than the cruise ship price. The brush arrived with the brush head, the wooden handle and cloth bag. I like the fact that I can remove the handle and use the attached cloth band if needed. It takes a little getting used to the harsh cactus bristles at first. With continued use, you get used to it. I took away 1 star due to the smell after washing the brush. There is a strange "corn-chip" smell afterwards. I tried soaking the brush and letting it air dry, but that odor is still there. It may go away with time, but overall, I love my brush. I don't know if it affects the tone of my skin, but my skin is softer after brushing and showering.

Great Brush
Fantastic Brush - not too rough (like some of the people are saying), good quality, and feels great. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because my first brush I received was clearly a returned brush that they sent out to me. There was no plastic packaging holding the brush like I received in my replacement, and the first brush also didn’t even have the handle included. However, my second one came promptly after I contacted Amazon.

Not only does it exfoliate, it invigorates my skin. I use it 3 to 4 times a week.

Replaced once - wouldn't replace again
I first used this Elemis brush when my mom gave me one. I LOVED it! After moving, it disappeared. I finally purchased a replacement during Early Prime Access. I was so happy with it the first time I used it. It was exactly as I remembered it. The next time I got ready to use it, I noticed that the brush head was cracked where the handle attaches. I requested a refund. The replacement came very promptly. I prepared to use it and was disgusted by the horrible smell of body odor that came from it. I used it anyway, but then felt the need to re-wash every place the foul-smelling brush touched so that I didn't smell like that. I tried multiple things to eliminate that putrid smell, including using the scent eliminating body wash my husband uses prior to going hunting. Nothing worked. After only 3-4 uses, I noticed that the brush head base was turning black. I always thoroughly rinse the soap out of it and leave it to drain properly to avoid this, as the one I received as a gift did the same thing, including the base cracking where the handle attached allowing the handle to slip out easily. I've tried several times from different devices to request a second replacement, but I always get an error message from the amazon return page saying that something went wrong and to use another method. I guess that means that my only option is to take a refund. I really want the brush, just one that doesn't make me gag everytime I try to use it.

the best body brush you can find.
My naturopath recommended to do a dry body massage with a natural body brush to increase blood and lymph circulation. All natural brushes I found in stores are way too soft and loose bristles within a month of use and gets even softer with each use. Not expensive (~ $20) but I end up buying new each month. Did some search on-line and elemis brush came up. It was the most expensive on the market ($60), but the reviews were great, so I got it. Use it now for 6 months. First couple weeks the massage was quite painful, as the brush, made of cactus fibber, is extremely firm. Then the skin got use to it and now the dry brush massage is the part of my regular morning routine . The brush doesn’t lose any bristle and stays as firm as it was on day one. After regular use my skin became very smooth and silky, even some spider veins start disappearing. Very high quality product. Highly recommend.

Elemis v. Fantasea
I purchased these body brushes for the purpose of exfoliation. Some sources suggest there are other benefits to body brushing, but I can't quite find anything solid on these other benefits. I bought the fantasea brush for some $3-4 and the elemis, regarded as the best body brush by one review (found via google), which cost me $36. Both brushes come as brush heads with a wooden backing and strap for an easy grip, but the elemis comes with a detachable handle, which would be useful for brushing the back and other hard-to-reach places. The elemis also seems to be of better quality, as the fantasea lost its bristles on the first day, whereas the elemis stayed intact. The elemis is also stiffer, which may mean it makes a better exfoliation tool, but I find that I enjoy the feel of the fantasea brush more. The fantasea seems to be hard enough to brush off dead skin cells (and I could see the white dust coming off and feel my skin becoming smoother), but soft enough to feel enjoyable and more like a massage than a desperate attempt to scratch off dead skin cells. Overall, I think I prefer the fantasea as it does the job of exfoliating and is more enjoyable. It might wear down faster than the elemis and it comes without a handle, but I think the much cheaper price makes up for it.

Love my body brush!
Never heard of the body brush until I had a spa treatment body wrap done. My technician used this exact brand of brush on my body before spreading the body mask. She told me lots of good things about the dry brushing that I looked it up on the internet. I was sold! I have been using the brush every morning before shower for a month now and have noticed my skin is much more tone and my cellulite on my thights has gone down. I have also noticed my body feels internally cleansed. I dont' feel as bloated with all the toxins. Dry Brushing helps move the lymphatic system. Lots of benefits and good investment.

Hurts at first but you quickly get used to it
Bought to fight cellulite and increase blood circulation. At first it hurts but your skin very quickly gets used to it. Obviously redness appears so don’t use on body parts you’re planning to have on show or give it time to calm down. I do it before the shower and then apply moisturising cream once am out and dry. I can’t tell as such if its doing something for the cellulite but it came recommended by plenty of health gurus and I can’t see it doing any harm!

Cheap wood weighing like a feather
I was looking for a quality brush that would last hence the price I was willing to pay. What I got was very poorly made i.e. Bristles coming off and bent up all over the place. Cheap wood weighing like a feather. General poor construction at a rip off price. I have never left a bad review before but this item left me needing to warn others. A company charging £20+ for an item like this is disgraceful.

A Shower Brush That You aren't Supposed To get Wet?
Wasn't quite expecting this but it's has very stiff bristles; which is what I wanted, so I'll just have to see how long it lasts in the shower.
