Interesting
These are great for conversation starters for your child. We are learning about empathy and feelings and these were nice to get things started. It is interesting to listen to his perspective on what he sees in these cards. These are fine for the fourth grade level he is, but might be silly for teens.

Excellent Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Tool
The front of each card has a little scenario with personified animals. The back of the card asks a few simple questions. It doesn't seem like these would be worth $12, and yet they are so incredibly useful! It was hard to tell from the few examples given, but these cover a wide range of scenarios ranging from the obvious (ice cream fell out of the cone) to the very subtle (people standing in a particular arrangement with different facial expressions, what is happening here?) It's not meant to be gone through all at once, but as a more slow build or continual practice. I absolutely love that they don't have an age listed, and the text and characters are able to be used with an older child. In fact, while I bought this with a particular child in mind, they were so good that we've been using them as a whole family, doing a few per day. And yes, I have been known to stack the deck after certain behavior choices - there's a card that relates to every possible behavior. The only flaw I had with this, is that one card had a character listed wrong on the back. All the characters are anthropomorized animals like Cat, Dog, Bear, etc. The smaller "child" figures have names like Cub, Kitten, Puppy, etc. They missed one and labeled the character wrong. It also annoyed me at first that the background color seems to be random. However, there are actually subtle differences in the colors and each card has a unique color. So then I thought it was neat that so much thought was put into the background. We have bought a lot of SEL stuff, because building emotional intelligence is important to us as parents. But in terms of value per dollar for a purchase, I think this was our best ever. After we have cycled through this deck a few times, I intend to purchase some of the others in this series.

Great but a little skeptic on one card
I’m a therapist and will be using these cards to help my younger client’s identify emotions. I came across one card that looks like rabbit is flipping turtle off. I haven’t gone through all the cards, but now I will. I will just put a sticker over his hand, don’t need client’s telling their parents anything else. I still love them and recommend these cards. Maybe I will also say rabbit is just having one of them days.

Important for working with young clients
I work with young clients, and I find these cards to be incredibly helpful in treatment. The cards contain different social situations on them. The goal of the kids is to figure out what's happening, why, and how to resolve an issue if there is one depicted. Overall, I would recommend to any treatment provider working with kinder to 3rd or 4th graders.

Huge help in helping preschoolers understand emotions of selves and others
As a former preschool special education teacher turned mom, I highly recommend these cards! We use this with the Torchlight Pre-K curriculum. Emotions and social skills are the biggest take-away preschoolers can achieve at this age, as it will serve them for a lifetime of better quality relationships. I suggest helping kids learn about their feelings and that of others before worrying about if they have their letters/numbers down. My almost 5-year-old and 2.5-year-old are both very interested in these picture cards. The illustrations are simple enough so that a preschooler can understand what is going on or begin to understand the emotions/concepts as you help explain. I like that there are a few characters used repetitively throughout the set so kids grow familiar with their names (I.e. pig and piglet). The questions on the back of the cards are great for getting kids to start realizing to look at others’ faces and body language to understand how they’re feeling. This would also be a great learning tool for kids on the autism spectrum of any age!

Great for Socio-emotional Learning
I purchased these for my preschooler and have really liked them. We do 1-2 cards a week, and it has been interesting to hear his interpretation of the scenarios and discuss feelings and kindness. My 7 year old child even likes to join in the discussion with the younger child. I plan on purchasing more decks from this series.

Excellent, well made product.
I'm a counselor who does home-based counseling. I love to have all of their decks of cards in my bag to use with clients. Very sturdy. The pictures are well drawn. Wonderful tool.

Must have for anyone with young children
What I liked about this product is that it teaches you how to be aware of others and there feelings, something that is not taught anymore.
