They are hit or miss
I purchase these for my business every month. I may have to switch however because every other box I get the lids aren’t fitting properly. They aren’t big enough for the cups and cause the lips to pinch or the lid splits. I even had one of my regulars spill her large coffee all over the front of her dress. Don’t get me wrong, when they fit they are great, but I’ve already called the company about this and now I’ve gotten a second box that is doing it again. The answer I got from eco-products was “we can’t really control the environment they are in after the lids leave us” however I feel like that’s a crappy answer considering they sell all of their products through amazon. I feel like that’s something they need to work out with amazon so the quality of their product doesn’t suffer. I spend around $500 a month with them for my shop. I really don’t want to switch, but if I get one more case that does this, I’m going to have to switch to another company.

This looks like a cup, smells like a cup, and tastes like a cup, but it is not a cup.
This product leaks miserably and thereby fails in its singular function as a vessel for hot liquids. Here's our experience... We chose this cup for our small, eco-friendly business to serve coffee in at a farmers market. A customer returned to our booth to show us that her cup she had received minutes earlier was leaking from the bottom seal. Hot liquid leaking on our customers on our first day at the farmers market. No bueno. We ran a test to see if this was a fluke and poured some coffee in a cup and set it on a table. Within minutes, the bottom was saturated and it was leaking. We doubled up with another cup to capture just how much liquid was coming out. As you can see in the pictures, it's enough liquid in a short enough period of time to render the cup not only useless, but a liability. (Because liquid collected in the second, doubled-up cup, the coffee eventually leaked through that one as well. Even doubled-up these cups are not functional.) We've initiated a return and, sadly, we are unsure whether we'll be able to stay in the eco-cup arena. PLA lining may simply be insufficient to contain hot liquids.

i try to shave it down or dull with a knife when they are using it
seems to fit another brand of compostable cups very well. caution: the bottom edge is very sharp. I along with the kids have gotten "paper-cuts" on our fingers when not careful. i try to shave it down or dull with a knife when they are using it.

Factor in a 5 or 10% waste factor.
Many of the cups are damaged upon receipt. Factor in a 5 or 10% waste factor.

BEST LIDS EVER!
I gave it a 5 star rating because it was perfect for the coffee cups that my coffee shop orders. Not only that, it also is ecofriendly which is also why I chose to buy this item. they fit properly and don't spill like generic cheap kinds.

Excited to find a compostable lid!
I was excited to find compostable lids. The coffee cups are a bit larger than we anticipated, but the lids fit securely and the cups are sturdy.

Cup is wider then regular hot cups
Cup is wider then regular hot cups, coffee tends to cool off fast (unless you have lids or use it for soup)
