Hope this helps others with hopes of a similar setup...
At first this did not work for me, but then I figured out a safe way to make it work. I bought this with a lesser understanding of 110V wiring than I have now. This LED night light requires a neutral, and you cannot just swap out an unused hot grounded light switch for this... I bought this because I have an unused unnecessary switch that runs up to a ceiling fixture for providing off an on power to a ceiling fan motor, a separate switch next to it to controls the light. The switch location is an ideal spot for a nightlight as it right in the middle of a hallway. Not only that, but I wanted this because the ceiling fan I bought has an inline controller that switches the light and fan off by remote, or via an app; so only one of the switches and wiring to that fixture was necessary. Long story short I went up to the ceiling fixture removed the wiring cover, found the unused wire that runs to switch, connected that up to the white neutral wire that ceiling fixture was using for a complete circuit, and that ran a neutral down to where the LED switch was. Aside from being a black neutral, which I remedied with white electrical tape, the circuit is proper, and the LED night light works perfectly. The photo shows 2 switches, the LED nightlight and my ceiling fan remote, the one on the far left is my hall light, the one in the middle the ceiling fan/light (controlled by the remote to the right of the three receptacle faceplate), and then of course the LED night light wired up with a proper circuit (so long as your not anal about the fact that the wire running as a neutral is black under the tape; but that doesn't matter).

Nice Installed Nightlight Solution
I used these to replace two dead switches created during remodeling. This time they were a solution to a problem, but in our next house I'll be actively looking for opportunities to install them. After installing an inline duct fan that serviced both vents in our master bathroom, I had a dead switch next to the toilet. This was the perfect solution for that area, as it allowed night time use without having to turn on the lights in the bathroom. The second light was installed next to a closet where light control had been moved from two switches to one. This made a great night light for the room. The highest brightness setting is offensively bright. Medium and low are both suitable for use as night lights. The nightlight takes about 10 seconds to activate after the room goes dark. These were installed for about six months before we sold our house and we had no issues with them. For these people having them burn up, I'd be interested in seeing what their wiring looked like. For someone to have 4 out of 5 units burn up when no one else it having problems suggests either a batch QA issue or end user error. Maybe time to call in the electrician.

Love this night light
The light has a built in dimmer so that the light output can be adjusted as you desire. It can be set to come on automatically when there is little light or to stay on all the time. Instructions were included on how to adjust the settings. I am accustomed to night lights coming on almost instantly when it gets dark and turning off almost instantly when there is light. This one takes about 10 or 15 seconds to come on or turn off automatically. Installation was easy. At maximum brightness it provides a good amount of light. The light is attractive and is well made and sturdy.

Simply the best
We have installed a few nightlights of this type and this one is by far the best we have found. We will only use these from now on.

A little more detail in the manual...
Fits perfectly. Easy to install. However the settings are a bit confusing. It can always be simply turned on, but the setting for auto on as explained I the pamphlet gets a bit confusing. I would buy this again, and probably will for other locations in the house, because it does what it's supposed to do.

Decent Quality product that works well.
I like the flush profile, cool and modern look of this unit, it's a tad pricey for what it is, but it does everything it says it does very well and it's an established brand that I trust to have as part of my house wiring. I did see a newer and slightly more curvy design from another manufacturer, very similar features for a higher price, that might appeal to some more than others but worth checking out to see which one suits you best. You can find full specs in a PDF on the Cooper Industries web page, I've attached a snapshot of the main details - make sure you look for the 7737W model though.

Works well as a hallway night light.
Hallway night light. Works well. Photocell controls the light. Would buy again if needed.

great addition
great product, very nice addition to the new bathroom. i installed it at normal outlet height between the toilet and sink. easily lights up the entire bathroom so you don't have to turn on the main lights for a late night bathroom run. some people say there is a long delay before it turns on but i think it is very acceptable, the way it is prevents the light from flickering on and off. i will defiantly but more as my home is upgraded.

Exactly as advertised
This light works great. I like the soft white color, although others prefer the bright white LEDs typically deliver. I think this is less abrupt in the middle of the night. High quality Cooper device!

Great Little Hall Light
Pretty good little light for the hallway. The dimming feature is nice. If you have it all the way on the highest setting, it is a little to bright I find.
