Not extremely warm coat, but fits a Shih Tzu pretty well.
Cons: I bought a medium sized one for my 11 lb., 8 month old, Shih Tzu whom is in full coat (he's a Show dog. And, I walk him daily on long trail hikes, with my clients' dogs. There should be MORE coverage between the legs, leaving smaller opening(s) to pee and poop. I bought this so that his coat would stay as clean and dry as possible, as he picks up TONS of leaves and will literally be covered with snowballs! (Which will make him get tangled, very wet, and extremely cold!) I walk other peoples' dogs, so we are out and About for 3-5 hours/day. Some issues I've found are: - back legs have too little coverage - Very THIN FLEECE inside; NOT a nice, Thick fleece lining., as described. - I will have to alter it with a thicker lining, & figure out how to minimize the exposure of his hair. - attach some waterproof booties with a snap rivet machine, which is the only thing I thought I'd have to do..... sigh - I wish that the legs were a bit longer, like 1-2", to bring the legs down to where the boots I'm going to attach will actually meet up with the legs. - Boots came down to just above his wrists and hocks. Pros: - I bought it a little bigger, as he will grow, and I don't want his coat to get tangled in the zipper! - was easily put on and to adjust the legs, and for ease of dressing, should be done 1st!!!! - was correct body length and chest diameter (with a room to spare) - My puppy took right to wearing this, and it was supple enough of a fabric combination, that it allowed for easer of movement. I was expecting it to fit a little better, for me NOT to have to do any adjustments, other than attaching the h2o proof boots. Zipper seems to be a middle of the road "heavy duty" zipper:; only time will tell! I'm going to try out the coat tomorrow, as it's going to be cold and rainy out... fingers crossed!

Fits 60 lb boxer mix
My dog (boxer x German shorthair) has a short single coat and unless he's pulling me on the bike, he gets cold when the mercury dips below about 25F. He also loves to splash in puddles, and has zero consideration of the temperature when doing so. I was looking for something with chest coverage (leg coverage a bonus) to cover his hairless underside on our outings (we also hike and camp quite a bit even during winter, which is mostly mild here, but sometimes can be cold). The XL fits pretty well. He is 17" at the base of the neck, 21" base of neck to base of tail, and 29" around the girth. There's some room in the back half for mobility, but the front has maybe just enough room for an extra fleece layer. Definitely not designed for super deep-chested or really large dogs. There is a velcro-down flap that covers the leash attachment, which seems like it's only positioned for a step-in harness (not for a standard harness with a loop on the back). The fleece lining goes all the way down the legs, but doesn't extend to the neck cuff. I've found the easiest way to put it on is: back legs, start zipper, front legs, finish zipper. I had the chance to use it for a short morning walk with wind chill at 8F, and my buddy wasn't shivering, but he wasn't super toasty. He doesn't quite move normally with this on, maybe due to static or the leg coverage, but hopefully he'll get more comfortable with more time and I can find a solution to the static.

Faulty Zipper - Quality is in Question
Update 01/09/17: I was referred by the Amazon seller, SXpress, to contact petlife.com regarding a product warranty (since they refuse to stand behind the product themselves). Little wonder that Pet Life will not respond to my emails or calls (the only live person I could get is in their sales department, who simply transferred me to the same voicemail box I had reached before). I will probably pay someone local to fix the zipper so I can at least use this, but please do not buy this thinking you will receive ANY customer support after you pass the 30 day Amazon return date. I am very frustrated and disappointed that I spent $60 on this now unusable product. I suppose this is a "live and learn" moment to be sure there is some valid manufacturer's warranting on items purchased through Amazon in the future. (Side Note: Amazon has an option for you to request the manufacturer's warranty. I responded to that. A week later they replied that they could not find one). Update 01/03/17: I used this item 3 times: The first time (indicated in my initial review) which was essentially a test fitting; a second time a few weeks ago when I took my dog on a walk after our first big snow; and my final attempt this weekend preparing for a snowshoe hike. I say final because as I went to put the coat on my dog before loading her up in my SUV the zipper came apart as I tried to zip it up. It just bent and fell off the tracks. I tried reattaching with some needle-nose pliers, but it was a lost cause. Now the suit is utterly unusable. What particularly bothers me about this is that because I bought this coat pre-season, in anticipation for them selling out when winter hit, the return policy expired before I ever really used it. Amazon referred me to the seller (SXpress), who initially stated I was outside the Amazon return timeframe. I replied and asked that they reconsider, describing the situation in detail, and their response was "Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do. You will need to contact the manufacturer directly with regards to the warranty." I feel it is more an issue of "there is nothing we want to do." And good luck finding the manufacturer online to find their warranty. Now I have to look around to see if I still have the original tags I pulled off of it 3 months ago. I have a hard time recommending an item with a clearly inferior major part that is not backed up by the seller. Let the buyer beware. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ I bought this in XL for my 45 pound German Shorthair (small for her breed). It was a little tricky getting it on, but I think after a few times we'll have the hang of it. It fits her well and still has a little room to spare if it's really cold and I want to add her fleece coat for snowshoeing. At first I wasn't sure it would work, her back legs would start to come out when she sat down. But once we got the cuffs tightened properly it wasn't an issue. My only concern, because of her short hair, is that the tightened cuffs could start causing rub marks after some miles on the trail. That's yet to be seen. We haven't had it out in the woods yet, but it was raining today and seemed to shed the rain just fine while we were in the back yard trying it out. Now we just need some snow!

Nicely made but my dog doesn’t like it.
It fits a little big on my dog so she started walking only on her front legs like a circus dog! Didn’t know she could do that. I cut off the back legs and stitched a seam and now it’s great. Very warm and good tummy coverage compared to her other covers. Because it’s a warmer coat it isn’t as flexible in my smaller dog - a larger dog probably would have this issue.

Good Quality, Waterproof
This is a great snowsuit for keeping my 15lb Havanese from getting overloaded with snowballs. It is lightweight, good quality, and does what we need it to do. He wears his harness over the top of it. This suit isn't nearly as warm as his fleece jacket, but he can wear that on top of this suit as well if the temperature is extremely cold (-10C) My dog's actual measurements are: 14" from the front of the shoulderblades to the base of the tail. 18.5" around the chest. 12" around the neck 7" across the chest. The SMALL fits him perfectly. He always runs around like lunatic, and this suit doesn't impede his movement at all.

I have a few issues with this is jacket. ...
I have a few issues with this is jacket. I ordered the XL based on the size chart but the length of the jacket is actually 25.5" rather than the 22.83" it claims to be. The shape of this jacket is not as pictured and does not work for a dog with a more athletic build. The waist and hip sections are wide compared to the chest, at least in the XL size. Also there are no Velcro pieces on the back and the leash slit is in an awkward spot. It is to the left of the neck rather than in the centre, so this wouldn't work if you walk your dog with a harness. While this doesn't really belong in the product review, I have contacted the seller about a refund and the process has not been satisfactory. If you are unsure of the size, it is important to note that the seller charges a 15% restocking fee for refunds.

Helios Blizzard full bodied jacket - blue medium size - true to size!
Helios blue medium size - true to size! Bought this while it was on sale. I was looking for a jacket/suit for my dog, a 20lbs westie for the cold winters. Just tried it on my dog and it fits perfectly! I measured my dog from the neck to the base of the tail to determine the size (my dog is 15", so it was a medium). Legs were not too long and you can tighten it so your dog doesn't trip and fall. I will add another layer under to keep my dog warmer during the cold winters if I can as I get him groomed during the summer (review done in July) and it all depends how much fur he has. Looking forward to seeing him play or walk more outside. States it's breathable, waterproof, snowproof & windproof. It's thin, so you might want to layer up in colder weather. The later inside is fleeced and has a zipper from the base of the tail to the neck. Don't know how long it will last but with care, hopefully it will last a good 2-3years.

Perfect for small dog
The media could not be loaded. Size small fits our 14lb shih tzu perfectly. He has a thick winter parka but would still come in shivering with exposed belly and legs. Was -14C here today, he went out in this, and was completely fine. I put his harness over it which keeps it snug on his chest, but what helps is that the exposed space around his lower belly, butt and back legs is minimal in this outfit. Zipper makes it easy to get on and off. Is thin enough that his coat can go over it if needed. Would definitely recommend.

Confo, et protègent de les éléments / Comfie & protects from the elements!
From having bought other jackets before, I use the girth as the determining factor, with this in mind my 23.5kg portie (very floofy and therefore in need of protection from snowball collecting on her fur) fit the XL perfectly (check the photos) and had enough room to zoom around without impediment. I would say only issue is I would prefer the legs a wee bit longer and because her hair is longer, the fleece zip protection did not help too much and we had k it in as we zipped. Precaution - NOT for dogs who do not cooperate or move alot as the dog has to stay still so they don't step out while you are putting the other paws in before pulling it up to zip up. Very well constructed, thin but warm!
