Not as heavy as needed not ceramic
I thought this was ceramic but it is metal with white coating. This means it is very light and when I turn the key to get toothpaste it wants to tip over. I have to pick it up and hold it to get the toothpaste out. I thought it was heavy ceramic where I could leave it on counter and turn key using one hand but that doesn't work. What is nice is it looks good on counter; better than just having the tube lying there.

Surprisingly Adorable
I thought I might LIKE this thing. Turns out I LOVE it. The quality is great, porcelain not plastic. The toothpaste just sits right there, eagerly awaiting being used. And not a drop goes to waste. Nice work, Marvis!

Works well, but not better than cheap plastic versions
I've been using an inexpensive plastic toothpaste squeezer with my Marvis toothpaste for a while, and thought I was "upgrading" when I bought this one when the plastic one finally gave out. While it's definitely heavier and sturdier (and looks better), it's also less convenient to use. 1. Starting the tube is fidgetier and slower than with the plastic squeezer. The metal pin has to fit on the end of the tube *just so* for it to work at all. The first several times I replaced the tube, it took me multiple attempts to get it right - a very annoying thing before coffee or when I'm exhausted and want to go to bed. Now after my fifth tube, I think I've got it figured out, but the learning curve was a nuisance after the easy plastic thingy. 2. The shape doesn't allow the last of the toothpaste to be squeezed out. The top opening is slanted, which doesn't actually push out the toothpaste as you reach the end of the tube. I end up removing the tube and squeezing it the old-fashioned way for the last several days, making me question why I bought a squeezer. 3. It's really big. The pin sticks out pretty far, so it can only fit in the medicine cabinet one way - and it takes up substantial real estate. In my crowded medicine cabinet, I appreciated that the plastic squeezer was only a teensy bit bigger than the width of the tube, so I could really maximize space. I'm also unlikely to take this behemoth traveling, especially since the porcelain could break. 4. It's not as simple to remove the old tube. Once you've wound the tube all the way, the quickest way to remove the tube is to slip the metal pin completely out. Unfortunately, that means you'll have to muscle the pin back in again, and fidget with it to get it in properly. I wish I hadn't bought this squeezer, and I regret not returning it before the returns window closed. I can't recommend it without very strong reservations.

Too fiddly to use!
I ordered this only because I like Marvis toothpaste and useful gadgets. However, this is much more fiddly than just keeping the toothpaste in the tray on the counter. It's very lightweight. I can remove the tube cap with one hand, no problem, but then I either have to hold this base down with one hand and hold the toothbrush near it to get the toothpaste, while simultaneously trying to turn the key and get toothpaste to come out; OR, pick up the whole contraption and brace it against my breastbone so I can hold the toothbrush in one hand and turn the key with the other; OR, take the whole tube out of this holder, apply toothpaste to brush in the usual way, and then fiddle around putting the tube back into the holder. Those are the only three options I've discovered so far and they are all awkward. I will archive this item since the box has been tossed, and go back to keeping my tube of Marvis in the little tray on the sink top. Later, I've worked it out. Leave it on the countertop, take off the cap, bring the toothbrush near it and just squeeze the Marvis tube as usual (as if it wasn't in the holder). Then, when done brushing teeth, put the cap back on and turn the key enough to get it under control.

Must-have
I love this dang thing so much. It works like a dream, makes keeping your toothpaste properly squeezed effortless, and looks attractive on the countertop (even if you’re not using the already-lovely Marvis tubes in it). I’ve taken to buying them as small gifts for people, because it’s such a thing you never knew you needed, but don’t ever want to be without once you have it.

Squeeze Out Every Last Bit of Paste with this Device
The Marvis Toothpaste Dispenser isn't just a fancy contraption. It really gets the job done in terms of squeezing every last bit of paste from the tube. See photo with the squeezed tube on the left and the new tube inserted in the device on the right [in my medicine cabinet]. So far, I've gotten over a month more worth of toothpaste from the tube that's been squeezed by the dispenser--and I'm not done with the old tube yet!

Goes rusty!
This is great looking and works but it goes rusty so not a good long term product. You’d think they’d use a material that doesn’t rust for a product that could get wet as it’s by the sink and holding your toothpaste.

Nice item
Received this as a gift and ended up buying another for a friend. It’s a really nice looking ceramic gadget. I’ve been using mine for ProRaso shaving cream. It’s a really tidy way of dispensing... if a bit less convenient.

Chicca dal gusto vintage e retrò...
... in ceramica e ben rifinito.
