Held up well to drilling heavy iron angle iron

I was designing and building a "drag" for leveling my very long gravel driveway. After drilling a few holes in the iron framing, I broke my 21/64" drill bit. It seems it was too brittle to handle thick iron. So, I ordered the DEWALT DW1921 21/64-Inch Gold Ferrous Oxide Pilot Point Twist Drill Bit to replace it. I had another 20 to 25 holes to drill in the iron. The Dewalt drill bit held up great and didn't lose its edge. I'm new to drill bits with pilot points. Needless to say, all of my future larger drill bits will be Dewalt bits with pilot points.

Cadillac of all 21/64" pilot point twist bits!

I really wanted to drill a hole one day. I didn't have a particular NEED, just an overwhelming desire. i opened my toolbox and didn't see a 21/64" bit. "OMG! How will I ever make holes slightly larger than 8mm when I want to?" I exclaimed, to no one in particular. My dog barked. It was all the confirmation I needed. One super-saver shipment later (I had to add a few things to my cart, of course), I was happily drilling holes, straight and true, piloted by a #1 Brand Name gold/rust alloy bit, chucked in my Chicago brand variable speed corded drill I bought on sale at Harbor Freight. It was like watching Paris Hilton visit a hog farm...strangly satisfying.

Does a good job.

I have only used the bit a couple of time but so far so good. I have had good luck with Dewalt tools and items.

Great for drilling manifold for EGT probe!!!

Bought this with the Kodiak cutting tools KCT 212045 1/8 NPT tap to tap a Cummins manifold. After drilling sooo smoothly the bit was barely warm. Would recommend both of these for your EGT probe install.

This bit works very well for what I need. I drill holes in PVC to screw in poultry waterer nipples.
