Beautiful chair, not built to last

First of all, this is a beautiful chair and for the purpose it is exactly what you would want. It is easy to assemble and looks great. Now the problem. This is the second such chair identical model chair I purchased from Toscana. The first one lasted 2 year but wanted to get much more use out of it. The legs are attached to wooden bracket with Allen screws and washers and upon finishing the assembly all appears secure. The problem lies in that over time the Allen screws work themselves loose putting stress on the wooden brackets eventually fracturing the brackets which are made of very soft (not hard) wood. Unless you constantly tighten the Allen Screws this problem of cracking the wood makes the chair unusable. My suggestion is they use locking washers or harder wood. I’ve tried to buy other such stools but non are as nice looking as these. So, buy them if you like them but be warned of the design issues.

Sturdiness.... uugh

So it matched my antique cherry set fairly well. Wood matches wood. Not perfect but enough. I scored this on sale for $50 something. It's worth that. The bolts so loosen up and need tightened every couple of weeks. My husband is talking about reinforcing it and kinda rebuilding it so that it actually holds. The material on top is just lovely! And holds up nicely to our house hold of dogs, cats and kiddos. Overall, I recommend for the price.

NOT AS TALL AS ADVERTISED

THE STOOL IS PRETTY AND SEEMS STURDY BUT I REALLY NEEDED AT LEAST A MINIMUM OF 20” TALL, WHICH IS WHY I ORDERED THIS STOOL. IT IS, AT THE VERY HIGHEST POINT OF THE CUSHION, ALMOST 18”. I DID NOT SEND IT BACK. I WILL FIND A PLACE FOR IT. BUT IT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED.

The Perfect Compliment for Antique Desk

I recently purchased an antique secretary desk and searched high and low for a chair or stool to match its style. After much chagrin and hesitation on finding an antique item to match, I found this vanity stool and bought it. When it arrived I was absolutely delighted---its color and style was a near-perfect match for my secretary. Assembly was simple and materials are sturdy and well-turned. You can tell this is a quality product. The cushion is a bit firm, but I really bought this to complete the effect of the secretary and stool in the corner of my living room---so I don't sit on it that often. I must say, many, many people are flabbergasted that I didn't purchase the two as a pair, so closely do they match. I highly recommend this item not just for a vanity, but for this kind of use as well.

Quality Stool

Great product- sturdy- takes no time at all to assemble legs onto seat- comes with the hex wrench to do this. Nice wood and fabric is good quality as well.

Secure, stable, and comfortable

I as worried about buying this product sight unseen, but it arrived exactly like it appears in the picture. I weigh a little more than I should and I was concerned about how well it would hold up. I have used the stool everyday for several months and it does not seem to have any trouble supporting me. It is stable and secure and the cushion is very comfortable. I would definitely buy this again!

Although it took about 3 months to get to me, it was worth it. It's so difficult finding something like this! Seems sturdy enough, and all seems well so far.
