The only Superb Owl I care about!

Fantastic! I’m still always amazed by the quality of Design Toscano items once I open them! Do be aware the locking hole on the back is smallish and can be hard to use when attaching to a tree.

very realistic owl figure

I am delighted with the appearance of this little owl on my ash tree. I deducted one star because the back of the sculpture has a narrow curve, so it will not fit flat against the bark of a larger diameter tree. (My tree is a bit larger than double the width of the sculpture.) I had to find a long nail with a small head to hang it. The bottom of the sculpture hangs out almost an inch from the bark below it. This is not obvious until you are right next to it or looking at it from the side. I hung it on the north side of the tree, so it should not blow off.

Very cute. Back is rounded not flat.

This owl is very cute and the perfect size for my tree. However I can’t use it because the back is rounded not flat. If you’re wanting to put this on a larger tree it won’t work because the back is shaped like a small tree trunk. I didn’t read that anywhere in the description. Very disappointed I couldn’t put it on the tree I planned for it to go in.

Very unique, well made item!! LOVE it!

I had a few doubts about this item, as it was stated to be made of metal (the only metal on it is a small plate on the back with the 'keyhole' mount), and I thought it might not last long. I actually just got mine today, and was pleased to find it made of a mix of marble dust and resin (which is a VERY good material, although if dropped on a hard surface, is prone to shattering. So, when I mounted it to my tree, I added a small black 'stop' screw above the very top to prevent it from moving upward, and added a couple of dabs of silicone caulk along the sides - out of sight - to help secure it. It does actually look just like the photo, is realistically painted, and has those realistic glass eyes! My neighbor came out, just as I was finishing mounting it, and I told her I had a 'new friend' in my yard (which I decorate with 12 statues of St. Francis - many of which I also got from Design Toscano - and 20 animal figurines, er, 21 NOW!) I moved aside so she could see it, and she bust out LAUGHING!! (from delight!) "THAT is ADORABLE!!", she said. I agree, and highly recommend this item.. it is 'just the ticket' for a unique, charming yard decoration!!

Very lifelike from a distance.

My best friend got startled/scared when she noticed the owl in the tree. The owl looked so real to her that I noticed her slowly walking backwards away from the tree as she was eyeballing the owl in fear, lol ! She was so relieved after I yelled out to her that it wasn't real. The owl has gotten a lot of attention & fooled many people... I LOVE IT !!! I'm thinking of getting another one, in hopes of scaring the squirrels & birds away from my fruit trees.

Love it so much even I live in condo and ...

Love it so much even I live in condo and don't have any tree to hang, I bought it to hang on the wall. First one had a deep scratch on his eye so returned it. 2nd one still has small scratches but not too bad. He is sooooooo cute. I like him so much. But I wish his eyes look like glass clear.... Not with scratches...... It comes with good protection. I don't know how his eyes always get scratched.....

Cute but expensive for what it is.

The way the back of it is curved, it is difficult to fit it onto a tree. I have it on a very large maple tree trunk. It does not sit well. It is lopsided so looks a bit unrealistic. No way to make is sit properly as the tree bark has ridges that make it stick out.I cannot make it look good unless I find the perfect tree with a thin tree branch. However, it is cute.
