Gorgeous!

Love this gargoyle! The detail on thie piece is beautiful and very impressive. It came very well package, protected and was the size and quality I expected. If you're expecting a heavy staue, that is not this, as it's made of resin and not cement. Thatt being said, it sits sturdy so wouldn't get knocked over by typical everyday wind if you place it outside, but a strong wind probably could. Very happy with the purchase!

Beautiful...in an ugly kind of way

Silas arrived on my doorstep undamaged and greeted me with a fierce stare. He is quite handsome, with stoney grey skin, wings and claws. The details are exquisite making him appear as if he's truly carved out of stone. I LOVE him. Alas, I was disappointed that he wasn't bigger. Even though the product dimensions CLEARLY state that he is only 4 X 4.5 X 7 INCHES tall I was expecting something more "life-size", as in 6 to 10 feet tall. After all, his official title is "Silas The Gargoyle Sentry Statue" so I was expecting to use him as a home security system. And seriously, you can't really expect to frighten away thieves with anything less than a 6 foot tall monster! But he is awfully cute, so I will keep him safely tucked away on my mantel where he can keep and eye on my little dog. And who knows, maybe he'll grow! (Authors note: Just in case you didn't get it, I'm joking. I just got so tired of reading negative reviews for these tabletop gargoyles from people who didn't take the time to scroll down and read the product dimensions. And when I got to the reviewer who was so angry he threw his poor little gargoyle in the trash because it wasn't big enough for him to mount on his chimney, I just snapped.)

Great purchase.

I have always been fascinated with Gargoyles. I wanted one for my porch to sit as a sentinel. Silas fits the bill perfectly. There is something in the way that his eyes are sculpted that gives him the appearance of being old and wise and ageless....just something fun to state. My little neighbor boy just loves him and always touches or pats his head when he passes by. Fun.

Cute for guarding a very small home!

My husband wanted this and chose it himself as it stated it was "suitable for your home or garden" and he wanted it outside in keeping with the tradition to have a "frightening figure to sit outside the home to scare away evil spirits". It arrived packed in polystyrene in a box.....at a very petite 11 & a smidge cm high, made of hollow resin with a flocked underside and far more suited as an indoor decoration, and certainly not something we'd contemplate putting outside as we very much doubt it would survive a hard frost , and would quickly get lost surrounded by growing plants!

Adorable!

Perhaps describing a gargoyle as "adorable" seems a tad strange, but he truly is. And very well made, just as detailed as the photo suggests, not too heavy. I'm not sure he'd do well outside but makes a perfect indoor ornament at this medium size and watches over my bedroom competently as a good sentry should. Highly recommended as something a little different for your shelves.

I neglected to read the description unfortunately. This 'medium' sized statue popped up among the outdoor garden gargoyles. I thought it was a great price for a medium sized gargoyle so was laughably disappointed when this tiddler arrived! Have it on my windowsill now, amongst my small buddas. ALWAYS READ THE DESCRIPTIONS BEFORE BUYING!

Nice piece - but not for the garden.

This is a nice piece and well made. It's ideal for a book-case or drinks cabinet but not for the garden and it really should not say that in the product information. First of all it's too small for the garden - no bigger than a tea mug, it disappears behind your flowerpot's and plants, also the dark colouring makes it difficult to see compared to real gargoyles made of sandstone.
