Very good valve
This is easy to install. Parts are easy to find and the stops are useful if you have to replace.

My plumber liked it.
My plumber had no problem installing this and he liked it because it had the dual water shut off…so when the cartridge needs replacing or any service needs to be performed the water can be turned off at the shower wall instead of having to turn off the main water valve to the home.

very easy to put in
Very well built and solid. very easy to put in. the valve or as they call it the "cartridge" does not come with this, you have to buy the cartridge and trim kit separate. this came with stops (the screws on each side) for the hot and cold water supplies so that you can turn them off when working on the cartridge, the cartridge is easy to install as you just slip it in with the HOT mark on the left and then tighten the chrome ring by hand. the only problem we had was that when the water was all the way on hot it was just lukewarm! this was with the Delta Faucet RP46074 MultiChoice Cartridge that is Single-function pressure-balance temperature control only. i knew it was getting hot water all the way to the valve as i could have the cartridge out and slowly open the hot screw stop and hot water would come out. after a little research it seems that there is a temperature limit stop which is set to lukewarm. it was a very easy fix to set it hotter, you just have to remove the handle. there is a video oon the delta website on how to this. once adjusted 2 stops from max hot we now have nice hot showers. first photo shows valve body installed, 2nd photo shows inside of valve

Lower flow rate than the one without the stops
This valve has a much lower flow rate than the 50 year old valve that I replaced it with, which was expected to a certain degree. But after doing some research I discovered that this valve also has a lower water flow rate than the regular R10000-UNBX valve (the same one without the stops). Do a google image search for "Delta Flow Rate guide" and you will see the chart come up. Of course the cartridge you choose will also affect the flow rate, but given the same cartridge, this valve puts out about a half gallon less water than the one without the stops. I payed the extra money for the one with stops so I wouldn't have to shutoff the water to the entire bathroom if I ever had to clean out or change the shower cartridge. But if I had known that just having the stops reduces the water flow that it puts out on a daily basis, I would have just bought the one without the stops (which costs less) and dealt with the inconvenience of shutting off the water to the entire bathroom if I ever had to change out the shower cartridge . Its still a decent valve, which seems well made, but the water flow rates on these things should all be specified in detail so people can make informed decision. Hope this helps anyone else making a decision as to what valve to buy in the future.

Great Valve Body
This is for use with Delta shower systems ONLY. I had another version of the valve, but, this one has flow controls built in. You can turn of your hot and cold water supplies within this unit, without having to go to the lines, which may be in out of the way places. Makes it much easier to clean or replace the control cartridge. Since the unit it replaced is over nine years old, they seem to have modified this slightly for better water flow. The original control cartridge fits fine. The built in flow controls made this a worthwhile upgrade. Note: because of the inclusion of the flow controls, the unit is a bit wider than the original which may affect the mounting location. Please see photo.

One of our preferred valve bodies to use in remodels
I am a remodeling contractor and we usually recommend Delta or Moen because of the variety of trims and the availabity of repair parts down the road, when the time comes. This Delta valve body comes with screw stops so the hot and cold can be shut off at the valve. No need to shut of the whole house if the valve needs to be replaced. This valve body accepts several different valves too. The valve body and coordinating trim kit dictates the functions. Cheaper models are temperature control only, full flow. Better models have dual control, temperature and volume of flow so be sure to read the specs. FYI most tub/shower valves at big box stores ONLY offer temperature control with no volume control and no screw stops which is why we don't let customers purchase their own plumbing fixtures.

i really like delta rough shower
Hey this is delta rough shower body.. The cartridge comes with the trim when you order it. this one has stop valves included. I really don't know if they are necessary in most houses but critical if you are on multi family dwelling.. well constructed and this one can be used with either screw on or solder pipe If you use PEX you can solder on some right angle adapters Personally I like delta but recommend you stay with one of the major brands Delta Kohler moen Pfister to ensure you can get parts in future All of the major brands are about same quality Some brands have more choice in trim kits. Choice on brands tends to be regional some places use mostly moen or Kohler some other brands. Why i like delta there is only one style of body and all the cartridges fit in it.

Good quality but water flow is worse compared to shower only model ..
I got open box deal for great price and is pretty happy with the quality. Its just the water flow isnt that great compared to same delta shower only model i have in my other bathroom.

Yes you SHOULD get the valve with integrated stops.
I love these Delta valves. I've installed several, and always opted to get the kind with the integrated stops. That way you can get it rough in like I have in my pictures and turn your water system back on, without needing the complete valve and trim assembly to be installed (which would require that your tiling and everything else is already complete). Since the stops are accessible even after tiling, it's simply a matter of installing the valve cartridge at the end of the job and opening the stops. The best part for me, as a diyer with only so-so soldering skills is that you can completely disassemble the valve before soldering to it, so there's no plastic parts remaining inside which you risk melting. The fit and finish of these valves is excellent imo. And the instructions are very clear about how far back you need to set it in the wall.
