The older model 54710 was better

We purchased the older model 54710 in our guest bathroom and I wanted another to replace our master bathroom shower. Unfortunately, it was no longer available in bronze anywhere so I purchased this 54810 instead, thinking it was the same. The "SureDock" system on the 54810 is not the same as the 54710, which has an actual "hook" that fit into the dock and could not be removed without lifting it. The 54810 has a magnetic rounded mount that slides into the dock. Unfortunately it is not secure and had fallen out of the dock when the hose is accidentally touched while showering - sometimes directly on my head. Definitely not an improvement.

No hose in package.

I love the style but I can't talk about hiw it works because there was no hose in the package. I did buy it as a used like new item in original packaging that said that it had a small blemish on it. Whoever returned it must have kept the hose. Will have to find a hose that color.

Price, seems quality but others are right

Low pressure, leaks after a month. We have really good pressure in every other shower.

VERY Easy to Install

No tools! No sealing tape!! ( Verify that their are gaskets in the hose nuts) In fact, you are warned that using tools might void the warranty. It took me about 10 minutes to remove the old sealing tape and five minutes to install the shower. The magnetic attachment works well. You do feel the slight tug attaching the shower head. To remove, I've found it easiest to pull the head slight to the right.

Not great for smaller showers

I was so excited to get this Delta handshower! I'm a huge fan of Delta products & their customer service and warranty are top notch. Needless to say, it wasn't going to take much to alter my opinion of their products...until I installed this & realized that their R&D Department must've been on vacation when this was created. My shower isn't huge, I'd estimate it to be a little smaller than 4'x5', and the plumbing is on the short wall. Now, my current shower head mounts into the holder at the bottom of the handle (see pic). This allows me room to easily angle it downward if need be. This Delta shower head has their SureDock mounting system, so a magnet in the mount attached to the shower arm & another on the back of the showerhead. After going through the extremely easy installation procedure, I realized that I wasn't going to be able to angle the flow of water downward, because the handle was nearly touching the shower wall. So instead of the water coming out at around a 30 degree angle (like my old one), it was closer to a 50 degree angle. This probably could've been dealt with if it weren't for the fact that now the sprayer was situated lower by about 6" than I'm used to (since I've lost the height added by the bottom of the handle being the mounting point). So the water now sprayed out lower, and at an angle that came across the top of my head, rather than down on my head. I could install some sort of shower arm extension, but at around $150, I shouldn't have to spend more money to make this work. And no way you can use a hanging shower caddy with this, so I’d have to replace that too. Three out of five stars for these design issues that many people are likely to experience since shower arms are a pretty standard length.

Very nice and beautiful shower

Delta -Faucet 54810-SS-PK SureDock Hand shower, Stainless Delta makes some nice plumbing equipment, this shower is no exception. It is well made and has a quality feel to it. It snaps into place nicely and provides for a really good shower, water restrictions aside. I do wish it sat a little higher but if you’re on the shorter side you will appreciate the mount. The settings are a\easy to adjust and work well. It has a nice variety of water sprays. It was easy to put up on the pipe but a shower is about the easiest plumbing job to do for an amateur. I love this shower and think you will too. It’s a top level product and should serve you well for a long time.

5-minute Install = Amazing Shower

I replaced an old showerhead with Delta's SureDock Handshower and my wife and I LOVE this showerhead. Our old showerhead did not do our water pressure justice and I'm glad that I finally replaced it. This showerhead is fantastic! I described it to my wife (after my first shower with it) as similar to the sensation when I first switched to an electric toothbrush. I just felt cleaner and more refreshed. ►Install: My review title is not an exaggeration. It took me 5-minutes to install this showerhead. If you've never installed a showerhead or are just not handy at all, it might take you double that time. But rest assured you can do it. The only tool required is your hands... well technically you may need channel locks to remove the old showerhead. Aside from that, you just hand-tighten the shower mount, attach the hose to both the mount and showerhead... and that's it! ►Performance & Features: This showerhead has seven different settings and they're selectable via a tab on the showerhead. The tab barely requires pressure to smoothly notch to the next shower setting. Some are better than others but my favorite is the full showerhead spray (tab at the 6 o'clock position). ►Warning About Water Pause Feature: Delta included a useful pause button that shuts the water flow off at the showerhead. This is a nice feature if you're trying to save water (any Navy-shower takers out there?) or are bathing a pet or child. A big warning, however, the water will be significantly hotter after unpausing the water flow. This makes sense since water is still flowing to the showerhead and warming up. I almost scalded myself when I first used this feature and made sure to inform my wife about it. ►Thoughts on Quality: This is a Delta product and it measuring up to my high expectations. This is a quality, well made product that's designed to operate trouble-free for years. No complaints there and I'm happy to see Delta is using metals instead of plastics when possible. ►Closing: A new showerhead is a simple, relatively cheap upgrade to your bathroom that can make such a huge difference. This is a great option for that upgrade. Recommended!
