I like the paint
After reading countless reviews and watching product demonstrations on YouTube, I decided to purchase Americana Decor chalk paint in multiple colors. After reading the various information on their site about protecting what you've painted, I also decided to purchase the varnish because the wax seemed a bit more high maintenance than what I was looking for. I like the paint. I actually blended the colors to get custom colors and it blended smoothly. I was a bit intimidated by the different methods you can use to achieve different looks. I had planned on doing solid colors, but after applying the first two coats I practiced dry-brushing on the inside of the piece and decided to proceed. I did need to use two coats and I'm glad I chose to sand my piece in spite of reading that I didn't need to. When I was finished with my project, the paint washed out of my brushes easily and off of my hands without too much scrubbing. I do feel that I need to address an issue I had with the varnish.... The paint (and all of the videos regarding the paint) mention using the stain blocker if you see the stain bleeding into the paint when you're painting. I lightly sanded all of my pieces. When I painted my furniture pieces, there was no bleed or color leaking. I actually did a swatch test before I painted to make sure there was not any bleed. Everything was perfect and I absolutely loved the look of my furniture pieces with the dry brushing I had done.... until I applied the varnish. As soon as I put the Americana Varnish on, my piece started turning brown. Some of the new paint (3 layers and dried for 24 hours) actually disappeared. And some corners got a crackled look that wasn't there before. I tried to get it as even as possible, but it still dried weird with brown splotches that look like I spilled coffee on the new furniture I just painted. It dripped a little on the back and it actually just peeled up and off really easily - almost like old glue so I'm very concerned as to how much protection my piece is actually going to get from it and I will probably end up painting it again. One of my pieces survived, the other I'm not happy with and will probably end up redoing WITHOUT the varnish. The best advice I can give is that if you decide to redo a piece either sand it all the way until there is no remaining finish (in spite of what all of the directions say) or do a swatch test with both the paint and the varnish.

Lovely product, misleading color
Overall, this is a great product. It's easy to apply, easy to clean up, and comes out with a beautiful finish. I purchased it to restore an old dresser I found at a thrift store and in two coats the banged up wood looked good as new. The finish is a lovely, velvety texture. I also purchased the clear creme wax to rub gently over it as a sort of protection, and that didn't seem to affect the color at all. The only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars is because of the misleading advertising about the color. I chose "Vintage" because when I saw it in person in stores and the online swatch, it appeared to be a greyish-green color that I really liked. So, I was a bit disappointed when the color actually came out a more pale blue than anything. Other reviewers here mentioned that it was a blue color, so perhaps if I had done a bit more reading ahead of time I would have realized. But still, the paint looks green before it's applied, the sticker on the jar looks green, and the online swatch looks green. All that taken together leads one to believe it should be green! Still a lovely product, and I'm happy overall...but I might end up repainting if I ever do find a chalky finish paint in that grey-green color!

Easy to use and pretty
I love this stuff! The color was beautiful and it is so easy to apply. I used about 1 1/4 jars to paint 5 kitchen chairs and I have plenty left over if I want to use it for another small piece of furniture.

Great coverage and end result chalk finish
Purchased to fix some chipped spots in a planter... but do love these little paints. Great for smaller projects for sure, just wish there were more color options available. For larger projects I’ve found other options though, as it is a little spendy for the amount you get

Great Paint
Chalk paint is the best invention since paint! I like this particular brand and the colors that are offered. You can easily mix colors together and I recommend adding water to whatever container you are using. A little water, not a lot. The paint is very thick. I love this paint so much I have painted 3 tall chests, an armoire, 2 bath vanities & just started a table last night. It is so easy to use and this brand is very good. I would highly recommend this brand of chalk paint.

Great paint at a great price!!
Huge fan of this paint!! Price is amazing and it goes a long way. As it tends to be a but thicker of a consistency. Therefore I add a few drops of water. This is such a beautiful color too!

Perfect to redo dresser!
Love Love! I purchased this to repaint a dresser I have had for 30 years and it turned out great! Took 3 coats and I used almost the whole thing. I also distressed it a little bit on the edges. After the first coat it looked awful, but that is normal- let it dry and paint a few more coats and it will look awesome. Do not be discouraged after the first coat of paint is on. I also used Creme wax as a final coat.

The price was good too and slightly cheaper than the big DIY shops
Ordered this on Prime so it came the next day, the colour is lovely and it matches closely to the colour advertised online. The price was good too and slightly cheaper than the big DIY shops. I have used this paint to paint an old dark piece of furniture and it has provided good coverage and has made it look like new. I would buy this chalk paint again but a bigger tin next time. The screw lid is a great feature as getting a lid of a tin of paint is sometimes a little difficult for me and it seals the remaining paint perfectly.
