This was my first commercial airliner
My first commercial flight was in the ‘60s with Pan American Airways in the Boeing 707. I also flew several more times in one, along with several other jets through the years, mostly by Boeing. When I saw this model, I hesitated buying it only because of its price. I knocked one star off my review because of the price. If I could have knocked off only a half-star, I would have done that. This model is that good! I thought about the model for a few days before I finally decided to buy it. When I received it, I was impressed by its heft. Even though it is plastic, it is a little heavier than it looks and certainly heavier than several other snap-together models of its size. Its actual weight, 6-5/8 ounces without the stand and 7-5/8 ounces with the stand, doesn’t seem like much, either. But, for a model this size, that’s plenty and makes it feel like a serious model and not a toy. The instructions by blow-up illustration based on the B747 leave a little to be desired, but it doesn’t take much to figure out what goes where. None of the parts fit where they aren’t intended. The Pan Am B707 model has 17 parts plus the 2 parts for the stand. Tips: -The tabs on the pieces are a tight fit, so they do take some effort to push them in all the way. Do push the pieces all the way in for the least amount of gap. They do fit nicely for such a small model. -I didn't do it, but it might be easier if you put the horizontal stabilizers on the tail before you attach the wings. Even though I put the wings on before the stabilizers, I still managed so this isn't a rule, just a suggestion. -Assemble the three engine pieces for each engine before you attach each engine to the wing. -The two larger pieces of each engine can go together only one way. The cowling has a small tab inside it that matches the small slot in the main body. Turn the cowling as you gently touch it to the main body and line up the curves on the outside, so you match the tab inside the cowling with the slot on the main body. When the tab and slot line up, you can start pressing the pieces together. It doesn’t take a lot of pressure to start it, so if it doesn’t fit easily, you probably don’t have those lined up correctly. -Make sure the horizontal stabilizers at the rear have the grey strip on top to match the wings. If you get it wrong the first time, you should be able to pull each one back out and switch sides with it. I have included some pictures so you can see how it goes together and how it looks when it’s assembled. Enjoy!

I'm enjoying this
I'd been threatening to buy a Pan Am 707 desk model for a long time, but hesitated at cost and size. I have to admit that I am glad I bought this one. Pro - Nicely detailed, nicely finished. The Pan Am blue looks a bit light in the product listings, but in person it looks correct. Size is good, large enough to have some presence, small enough that it doesn't take over the desk. Weight is pleasantly heavy - must be solid. Assembly was smooth and easy and the joints have disappeared to my satisfaction. Con - The stand isn't nearly as nice as the model and it's hard to see the plane without seeing the stand. Oh well. All in all, I'm content.

Excellent model, completely satisfied.
I just received my Pan Am 707 and am absolutely delighted with it. The packaging was great which was important as it was shipped all the way to Glasgow, UK and the assembly was easy and took around 5 mins. Even so, the advice and photos provided by one of the previous reviewers were great and helped avoid making simple mistakes. The model is really solid and the parts are precisely made and snap together perfectly. This is a quality product and well worth the price in my view and I’m completely satisfied with it. I’d gladly buy other products by this manufacturer. Fantastic piece of Pan Am memorabilia also from a golden age of commercial aviation. The 5 stars were a no-brainier!

Great 707 Model
These models are great. Very easy to assemble. It took less than 5 minutes and snaps together without the need for any glue. The level of detail is decent. The paint and graphics are bright, sharp, and accurate, which really makes this model great. This particular model is done up as N415PA (Clipper Monsoon), which was delivered to PAN AM in 1966. It has the JT3D turbofan engines, which were the most common on the 707.

Pre-detailed plastic display models
These Daron Skymark models are awesome! If you don't have the time to build your display models yourself, or like me have lost the ability to do so, these Daron models are the perfect alternative. They are decent size, well-detailed, sturdy and very affordable compared to other alternatives. If you're not sure, try one and see.

Love PAN AM!
Building this one was a bit harder than building the Delta models... so many small pieces you lose one, that's it! I wish the engines were already build like the Delta ones. Still gorgeous though. IG: LostInTravelz for pics of the models.

A good buy for any aviation enthusiast
Well contructed with great attention to detail, I have this model displayed on my desk at work. Not only does it look terrific, but it's a great conversation piece for when air travel was a model of refined luxury.

Este avión atrae las miradas de todo visitante. Especialmente porque es de una aerolinea que muchos recuerdan y sienten cierta nostalgia al ver el avion. Estoy en planes de comprar tres mas de diferentes aerolineas.

Flash Back
Brought me back to the glory days of aviation in late 60's early 70's when I flew Jet clippers to Europe and Asia, more champagne please!!, pares well with the grateful dead on the rock channel and some wacky cookies eaten pre flight. Smilin and stylin ☮️????
