Review for use with iPhone 8
This review will be focused on non-tactical use of this pouch with the iphone 8, 4.7 inch model. My Use: I live in San Francisco. My transportation is bicycle, motorcycle, and subway. I keep one phone pouch on my back pack, always. And when I ride my motorcycle I have a pouch on my belt. I have two of these pouches and I use them for both purposes. My iphone has an Anker case, the one with the hang-clip/stand. I also use the Anker tempered glass screen protector. With this case my phone is 15 cm tall and 7 cm wide. The Pouch: The pouch is barely wide enough for my iphone 8. It's a snug fit. The phone extends up out of the pouch slightly so there is a little bit of potential exposure to the elements. It has a super-stong velcro cover and a plastic buckle. It's overkill for my use. But the buckle does nicely obscure the logo, which I like. It comes with a belt attachment which is pretty tight so it won't slide around a lot. It is also MOLLE-ready, meaning you have to provide your own molle attachment. I used zip ties to attach it my 511 backpack. It works but sort of hangs a bit. There is zero padding. And the material is not screen friendly, meaning if you have a plastic screen protector, it will probably get chewed up over time. The outer material is teflon coated and repels water reasonably well. Between this and the iphone 8's built in water resistance, I think it's covered. The main internal pocket is not the best for headphones. It works, but not well. And it gets in the way a little. I think it would work better if it were an external pocket. But then, this isn't what the pouch was designed for. There is also a rear internal flat pocket. You could store cash or credit cards in there. But they would be really hard to get out and would probably slide down to where you would forget they were there. I use this pocket for keeping a few very thin emergency tools. Overall I like the pouch. (which is why I bought a second one). It isn't exactly what I would want for an iphone pouch, but it's the only good-quality molle compatible pouch I could find that snugly fits the non-plus size iphones. The pouch is really well constructed. I expect this pouch to outlive my phone by several decades. [UPDATE MARCH 2020] Still going strong, no signs of wear. Daily use.

Well designed & made
Purchased the Maxpedition TC-1 pouch as an alternate replacement for the broken belt clip for my iPhone's Otterbox case. I use it all day, everyday - at home and work. Am pretty pleased with it. Materials & craftsmanship: > Sturdy fabric/clips and heavy stitching. Design: > Flap Closure - Velcro is very secure. The strap is where I reluctantly drop a star. If i were doing some intense outdoor sports where a branch could scrape across and open the velcro, then the strap would make perfect sense - it keeps the contents in. However, I'm not doing that, so it gets frustrating to have to unbuckle it every time I want to access the contents. If the strap is left unbuckled, it hangs very low and smacks against things as I walk. I've considered cutting the strap off, but just can't bring myself to. > Webbing & attachment points - The belt loop works well with casual and dress belts, but is too small to run the waist straps of the Maxpedition Proteus pack through. Have to use Tac Ties to attach there. The side loops are perfect for pens - love this feature!. Overall: > The pouch is well made and super functional. Updates: > Almost 2yrs now and still happily using it daily The Otterbox case started to pull threads from the top seam near the opening, so stopped using the case. The side loops remain a favorite feature: I keep a pen in the front, and use the back one for my sunglasses (have to be careful sitting down). The strap no longer bothers me and have gotten good at opening and closing it one-handed. Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars. Would buy this again in a heartbeat. > Have found a great use for the buckle strap... you can pull the top part of the buckle from underneath the logo strip on the front, pull it and the bottom part behind the pouch and buckle them around something (like a towel rod). Is a great way to hang it up when not wearing it. Love this feature.

Perfect for my edc needs
I’ve been using the leatherman nylon sheath for my multitool/bit kits/bit extension for two years. But when I need to pull out my bit kits, it’s a pain in the neck, due to how tightly crammed they were. I’ve heard good things about the Maxpedition line of carrying solutions. I figured I’d try the TC-1 for my multitool/accessories and it fits the bill perfectly. It’s held up really good for the week that I’ve had it, and I can tell it’ll last for a long time. The quality is superb. Very happy with this belt pouch!

Excellent Mobile Phone Pouch
As always with Maxpedition you pay for what you get. This is superb quality with no fuss or thrills. Excellently made it can accommodate all but the largest mobile phones. It has belt, MOLLE and loop attachments (no clip function although this could be added). Tough, durable, well crafted - what's not to like.

Maxpedition, don't have much to had; this one ...
Maxpedition, don't have much to had; this one was for a very specific project I had, I have a survival knife with a Kydex sheath, so this small waistpack was just the size to fix to the sheath. It took me half a day to find screws, washers; did the holes and "voila"; I can carry fire starting kit or a small first aid kit or whatever I need... Benoit
