Why would Curad add baking soda?
As first aid supplies go, this is a nice kit to stock up your home or office medical supplies. It has a good variety of gauze pads as well as rolled gauze and paper tape. Everything is individually sealed and protected from dirt and contamination. Everything is up to the standard of quality we've come to expect from Curad. Even with this box of supplies being a good purchase, WHY add baking soda to neutralize odors from wounds? One thing hammered into us in nursing school and then working with patients is proper wound care to avoid infection. A wound that is in good shape and healing properly won't smell. Bandages should only smell if they are dirty and need to be changed. If your bandages or wound smells, that's a sign of infection and you need to seek medical attention as soon as possible. You don't want bandages that work to mask odor since it could delay critical treatment with antibiotics or wound debridement. It seems crazy that Curad would produce a product like this and are jumping on the 'everything needs to smell bleach-clean' bandwagon. Also, some people are sensitive to baking soda and it can cause serious skin irritation. Why would you want to expose customers to something that could impede wound healing or potentially threaten their lives? Five stars for a good selection of medical supplies, and I really want to take two or three stars off for stupid marketing ploys.

Doesn't stick to wounds
I love these bandages. I love that it came in a variety of sizes to use on my fingers/hand when I have a bad eczema outbreak and need to cover my fingers/hand to keep the medication from rubbing off on furniture or clothes. It didn't stick to the wounds and the baking soda in the gauze seemed to help heal my wounds quicker. Great addition to my first aid kit.

Great for Stubborn Wounds That Keep Smelling Like a Dead Body!
See, the hospital messed up and tried to put a neck brace on me while I was in the ICU unconscious for almost a month in January of 2020. Unrelated to why I was in there, this stupid neck problem that I still have, existed all the way back then. Well, since it's nearly frozen in a position looking down and to the left, they decided to try and put a neck brace on me, and then didn't check on me all night... And so, it created these horrible open wounds on my left shoulder and behind my left ear. I was still unconscious through all of that, but that sure was a nasty surprise to wake up to after almost dying from viral pneumonia... Anyway, because of the position of my neck, the two wounds constantly mess each other up. And here we are today, about 2 years and 3 months later, and I STILL haven't gotten them to heal! I even went to a wound care specialist last November and December, who said it was healed while I kept trying to tell her that it wasn't completely gone... Things just keep getting even worse from there, but that's enough for now I think. My point is just that, I've tried just about everything you can think of over the past couple of years, and I might have more experience with open wounds now, than most people. That being said, the wounds have gotten infected a couple of times, and that's when they tend to have an unpleasant odor... All this time I've never known that gauze bandages existed that have baking soda in them! And so, after using them for a couple of days so far, I'd say they work pretty well. Oh, and the picture I have provided just shows everything that's in the box.

Great to have on hand
These are great to have on hand for emergencies or accidents. They are great for a first aid kit. Curad is well known and a famous name for wound care so just by name alone I find the product trustworthy. There are a variety of shapes and sizes for different needs.

The set is fine but the baking soda is gimmicky to me
- Made in China - Curad name is used under license, made by Medline - The 6 non-stick pads w/adhesive tabs do not have the baking soda in them - All are sterile except paper tape I don't know about the baking soda bit. Granted, the only wound I have right now to test it is already scabbed and maybe that's why I'm not getting any "soothing" feeling. The 'reduce odor' also makes me feel weird. If you've cleaned it and it's not infected, there shouldn't be any smell. If it does smell, you need a doctor, not baking soda. You'd need healing, not odor masking. At least that's what it seems like to me. Plus, why do some of the bandages not have it? So yeah, that part seems gimmicky to me. All the bandages are just fine, though. A decent enough range of sizes and the box itself is compartmented so it's a decent holder that should last a bit. All in all, for me it's just the wider range of bandage sizes and gauze and tape that makes it worth it. Wound care essentials in one kit...
Curad's SoothePlus Wound Care Kit is convenient to have on hand. The kit contains the essentials for dressing a wound: 6 2"x2" gauze pads, 6 3"x4" non-stick pads with adhesive tabs, 4 3"x2.5 yd gauze rolls, 8 4"x4" gauze pads, and 1 paper tape roll. I like everything except the paper tape which never stays in place on my skin. One 'selling point' of the kit is the baking soda that is theory helps reduce odors. I like knowing that I have all the necessary elements for wound dressing on hand; but I have purchased a better tape.

Decent kit for emergency use
Good to keep one kit at home it would be very useful in kind of emergencies. It has been described that it is infused with baking soda to reduce wound smell. That would be great to ask a doctor before we use it on a fresh wound. This kit has many items gauze pads and rolls which can be great to use for wounds, cuts, burns, etc... The nonstick pads are super absorbent and adhesive pads are very helpful to stay in place.
