Read this series about 20 years ago. I bought the first book on Kindle "River God" and couldn't put it down. went on to read the whole series. What can one say about WILBUR. One of the best historical / fiction writers of all time

Solid Smith tale and it does pull you along nicely. Somewhat predictable but he sets you up for hoping for it to be that way, very crafty boy is Wilbur Smith. I did like the introduction of the working of forces more along the lines of supernatural powers and understanding. He doesnt quite go Harry Potter level magic on it, just more of a new alignment with the gods and their powers. Good job.

Nefer's courage increases, and as Taita's magic grows more beguiling, so grows stronger the power of their tireless enemies. A story well worth reading, specially if you like Ancient Egypt its Pharaoh's and all the mysteries that come with it. Characters are bigger then life and their adventure is fantastic.

five stars effortlessly.

your imagination mixed with fact constructs the most wonderful of stories . while reading river god, the seventh scroll and just beforehand warlock.i cant help but notice when i put down the book how far i was taken from normalcy. hours pass, sustinance forsaken just so i can learn more of what is in store the characters . after reading hundred of books by many authors you are one of only three that take me away completely. wilbur smith....may you live forever!

Wilbur Smith's Warlock

I have read almost every Wilbur Smith novel and some several times. He is by far one of the BEST non-fiction historical writers I have had the privilege to read. I was fortunate to be able to find hard copies of River God which I plan to re-read. Warlock was very good - not quite as exciting as River God...but for goodness sakes how can a person keep up that degree of intensity? The only Wilbur Smith book that has disappointed is the Quest but I am very happy to have read and completed the Egyptian series despite the lack of eBooks for the first two of the series. Anyone who has completed just one of Wilbur Smith's books will return to the next without hesitation. Thank you for many hours of entertainment and education!
