Fun project for 5+ with parental guidance

There was actually plenty of string in our kit. Kids (5 and 7) needed help tying on the string to start each section and tying the string to end each section. They were able to put in the pins on their own. The string did get tangled but we were able to untangle it. My kids weren’t able to do it on their own, but I think 8/9 year olds could do it without any help!

Fun but a bit challenging

I bought this for my son to make gifts for family. It did turn out really cute and Grandma loved it. It was a little more challenging to do than I thought it would be. If the string isn't wrapped "just right" or held in place "just right"- then it comes off the head of the pin, and sometimes several others as well. That became frustrating for my son, because his work came undone. We worked through it though! I would definitely recommend it to others- take into consideration your child's abilities for their age :)

not for “little” kids

This was wonderful as an idea for my 5 year old. I didn’t realize it was going to be so intense as a craft kit. So mom ended up doing it and hanging it up for her. I figured it was more just wrapping the strings not actually putting each pin in. No complaints though. More than enough string and easy directions and it looks super cute. Best of all we made it :)

Great gift / terrible shipping packaging

Great gift but the shipping was another story. Strong shipping labels were put on the actual box instead of putting it in a box or shipping bag/envelope. I had to use Goo Be Gone on the box to get the stickiness off to be able to give the puzzle as a gift without the tacky shipping labels showing. This also meant the actual gift was visible on my porch. Thankfully it was for my niece and not my child.

It’s tough

I have an 8 year old and a 6 year old who are very crafty and this was tough for them. My 8 year old finally got it but only wanted to do one. My 6 year old gave up.

Lovely gift for arts & crafts

Bought for my 9 year old neice. She totally loved it. The product description is accurate. Good quality canvas boards with variety of string colors. Lovely gift to get them started on string crafts.

Made this with my partner's 9 year-old and it was fun! Can be time-consuming but she really enjoyed it. Make sure to pay attention to what areas connect to where so that you don't have to re-do sections, but overall pretty great. Could use a few more pins and strings if they want to use certain colours on more than one backing.

Why the 3 star review? I only leave 4 star if the product is exceptional and 5 star if it is out of this world! From 2023 onwards, very few of my reviews moving forward get 5 stars. For me three star is the item is acceptable. No comment on the actual product. Was a gift, came on time, looked alright. No issues with the product but again, did not use as it was a gift.
