Smooth, glass-like plates, well made & sturdy + resist chipping & stack compactly...

These are great plates for appetizers, desserts or just to have a snack. The small size of these plates make it everyone's favorite and they get used so often, I don't even put them away in a cupboard. I keep them handy on an over-the-sink plate rack. I probably have the equivalent of five or six sets of Corelle -- I still remember buying my first set as a new bride (Butterfly Gold) along with all of the matching Pyrex bowls and casseroles. Years later, I inherited my mother's large flowery set and after she passed away, my father bought a plainer set that was more to his liking and I have those, too. I think I have only broken one plate in all those years but I have lost pieces during our many moves or by taking them to family pot-lucks and such and not getting all of them back... They are strong and durable and it is not easy to chip them. There are no markings from silverware, as there can be with some plates made of softer materials. My Corelle sets have held up to daily use for a family of six and are still going strong. They are lighter and thinner than my stoneware (my so-called fancy dinnerware) and they stack very compactly so they easily take less than half of the space. They are easy to wash, and are dishwasher and microwave safe. The plates with large designs covering the entire plate have faded a bit with decades of washing, but the plates that are only decorated around the rims still look surprisingly new. I don't know if Corelle is still being made in the same way, but these new plates look and feel just like my older ones. I think they are perfect for families. This particular size was included in only one of my sets (my Mom's) and I don't have enough of them so I was happy to find these. The delicate scalloped dot trim on the plates in this Caspian pattern understated but very pretty. The practical, high-quality plates are well worth the modest price. They were well-packaged in a sturdy box and arrived intact.

Nice Corelle plates, but they are very, very small, just as advertised.

I’m not good at taking a measurement I read and converting it to real life, so I was a bit surprised to see how small these plates are. They are, of course, just as advertised, but they surprised me. They’re plain white, and they’d make great appetizer, snack, or kids’ plates. These are sturdy little plates, thicker than the Corelle I’ve had for years and years, and I like that feature very much. These are dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe, but I’ll never put my plates in the oven. I’m afraid I might forget them, and my oven doesn’t have an “off” timer. The plates are plain and simple, just as advertised, and they’re sturdy and should last a good long time. Very good product, a set of white Corelle snack, appetizers, or kids’ plates that are plain but sturdy and very nice. I believe these are thicker than the Corelle I bought I-don’t-know-how-many-years-ago and still use, and I like that. These would be easy to handle for appetizers at a cocktail party and great for making kids a snack or a PB&J. If you’re looking for sturdy, reliable, plain appetizer, snack, or kids’ plates, these are a great buy for you.

Light as a feather, sturdy, durable, reasonably priced, made in the USA!

The "Corelle 6-Piece Appetizer Round Plates, Vitrelle Triple Layer Glass, Caspian'' arrived well packaged and undamaged, and they are even more beautiful in person and I couldn't be happier with them! The design is simple yet elegant, and the 6.75" size works out beautifully for such sides as sliced avocado, which was my intention when I ordered them. What I like - •Made in the USA! "Crafted with pride in Corning, New York!" •Lightweight, yet sturdy! •Easy to handle! I have arthritis and I love Corelle because they are not heavy! •Easy care! Dishwasher-safe! Plus… •Freezer, microwave, and pre-heated oven (up to 350°F) safe! •These little plates stack together nicely, taking up little room in height! •Elegant design! Pictures don't do them justice! •Great price! •Gift worthy! Overall, I am very pleased with the 6 Corelle appetizer plates and I've used them every single day since they arrived! If I run into any issues, I'll update my review, but I've always handled my Corelle glass (and other glass cooking and serving dishes) the same way, and I follow the instructions in the included use and care guide. For example, I never place them on my cold granite countertops (or any cold, wet, or damp surface) after removing them from a hot oven or microwave. I always place them on a wood trivet. And I never place them in the sink or run water over them until they are completely cool. Bottomline, these little appetizer plates are great and I'm happy to give them 5 stars and my recommendation!

Beautiful!

I grew up with this brand because my mom was a firm believer in them and would use their stuff every day. Now that she's passed away and I unfortunately don't have any of her stuff anymore, I knew that I had to get these. Trust me when I say, you can depend on this brand to last you a lifetime!! These plates are beautiful and look elegant and casual at the same time somehow. You can use these for your every day dinners or break them out only during the holidays or when company is over. Either way, you won't be sorry. They look great regardless of how your kitchen or dining room is decorated too. The best thing about everything that this brand offers, is not only are they immensely dependable, but they are very durable and easy to clean up. You are basically getting high class and high quality plates for a blue collar price. You can't beat that!! These would be a perfect gift idea for anyone you know, or just keep it for yourself!!

Love it

I love these Corelle plates. I have 2 sets on the regular size ones. This is my first set of small plates or snack plates. All Corelle dishes have a simple design. They are clean, thin, lightweight and durable. I must admit, I have dropped these plates a couple of times and the didn't break. Amazing! They are a great value and dishwasher safe. Highly recommended!
