Great rope for a home workout

I have had this rope for several months now. It is the perfect length, width, and weight for one person to use at home. I pass my rope through a kettle bell handle at one end of my garage and it is just long enough that I can stay in the garage to exercise. I also like to use it outside, weather permitting, and I loop it around the trunk of a pretty study tree. One thing I wish I had known from the beginning is that the rope frays somewhat easily where it rubs on the tree and kettle bell handle. It makes sense that it would- that segment of rope gets the most abuse. When I noticed it was happening I just wrapped duct tape around that part of the rope. Problem solved! I have seen separate rope anchors or mounts that can be purchased but my duct tape method is working just fine for me. The handles are nice and easy to grasp. All around good product!

Good Quality; Great Workout

I have been using this rope for a couple months now, and am quite pleased. I have NOT experienced any fraying as told in other reviews. I use the rope outdoors on grass and blacktop driveway, depending on the conditions, 2-3 times per week. I have noticed some minor sun bleaching of the black color and some minor wear, from the blacktop I am sure. The shrink handles and rope do not show any wear or damage aside from the minor stuff mentioned. The workout is great, and better for me than most other things I've tried. My only complaint is pretty minor: I thought the rope would be more flexible. It's pretty rigid, although it flexes plenty for workout purposes.

What a workout

Love the workout. Started using it straight out of the box once I received it. My three kids were lining up to take turns using it because they all thought it was the wildest exercise they'd ever seen. However, I may have made the mistake of having the rope looped around a square edged pole. This caused it to scruff pretty badly as it was being rubbed up and down a fairly sharp edge. So as a piece of advice, use a round pole or heavy kettle bells to anchor it.

Fraying

The rope was the length and strength noted, but instantly started to fray. We take great care with our equipment in our Boxing gym and bought this item because another gym had these ropes. We found out later that their ropes also fray quite steadily. We had the ropes, we bought 2 of the 40 Foot ropes, and within 2 days they frayed in different spots. So be warned, they will fray no matter how careful you are with them. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to state our opinion.

Quick on wear and tear

After the first session of using the rope for ~5 minutes total this rope started to show bulges. After 2 months the bulges are quite large and the rope actually stiffened. It isn't smooth like the first day and it feels as if it has rotted. It still serves it's purpose it just isn't up to par from the day I bought it.

Quality issue

I bought this rope for a boot camp class. I love the look of it and it seemed like a good rope. Then after just a few months of using it maybe twice a week, it started to unravel. So I returned it and Amazon quickly sent me another. I thought it might just be a bum one and thought I would try it again. Well, it started to unravel after only two uses. It is a sleek looking rope and I love the black, just bummed that it doesn't hold up.

Good sturdy combat rope.

I've had this rope a couple weeks, so I can't comment on the long-term durability of the rope. However it's a good solid rope. The handles are nice. It's got good weight. It definitely a good workout if used properly. High intensity interval training is kind of the craze right now, so you are going to overpay for a rope. However in comparison to other options out there, this seems to be as good of a deal as any. It seems very well made.

It has a decent weight to it but the quality is lacking. After a few use the rope started to fray. Also because it is made of a nylon, it is not as fluid as a regular rope. But it does get the job done.
