Leaks

I bought this lid for my 32 oz bottle. But it leaks. I noticed (after purchasing) it does not have a seal/gasket inside the lid and this is causing it to leak.

no straw

doesn't come with a straw. Silly me for assuming it would, but now I get to a) buy straws for it and hope they fit or b) return this and buy a lid that comes with them. Think I'll go with B. Which is a shame, because aside from the missing straw I really like this lid and the ability to not use it should I choose. Oh well. EDIT: as it turns out, because the straw mouthpiece just goes from side to side and can't tilt up, it's really awkward. Back it goes. EDIT EDIT: While I did, in fact, process a return, they said I didn't need to actually give it back so.... A few additional thoughts....if you don't get a straw for it, make sure the bottle doesn't fall over or get stored on its side. that empty hole is a great way for water to leak. While nalgenes themselves are pretty indestructible, these lids are...not. Bottle slipped out of my hand from about waist-height, bottom hit the ground, but then it bounced and the lid took a hit. Now its cracked and useless. Kind of disappointed in that. If I'd dropped it on its lid in the first place, that'd be one thing, but breaking on the bounce is a bit different. Decent product, but room for improvement.

Clever Cap for Wide Mouth Bottles

The Multi-Drink cap affords both "gulping" from a close to standard diameter (28mm) strapped retained bottle cap, and sipping from a pivoting spigot that can be locked closed. That spigot leads to an internal nipple that accepts a vinyl/silicone straw of the right diameter. However, the cap ships without a mating straw. Now my intention for this Multi-Drink cap was to team it up with a RapidPure water filter "straw". The silicone tubing/straw that fits to their RapidPure filter (which is the top section of their "in-line" filter) turns out to be a perfect fit to slide onto the Multi-Drink Cap spigot nipple. Cutting this RapidPure hose/straw to length and attaching the RapidPure/Straw to the Multi-Drink cap creates a "traveller's water filter bottle" from any Nalgene wide mouth bottle. Note that this "hack" only affords filtration when using the pivoting spigot - I'd plug the "gulp" port with an earplug to insure no one accidentally "gulps" unfiltered water if you try this. Finally, the spigot doesn't provide either the natural approach to straw-use, nor the volume of liquid you'd expect to draw. Sucking from the spigot is a bit awkward and slow, but works. The gulp port provides similar volume as if drinking from a typical 500mL store-bought plastic bottle, and the keeper strap is easily moved so it doesn't get in the way. The seals of the cap, the gulp port, and the spigot seem good. However, the spigot path can retain liquid when turned and locked, then "spit" a bit when unlocked to drink. Not a big deal.

Don’t drop

We have used Nalgene for years. All the kids, 12, 11, 8 love this lid the best. You can easily take a sip between classes, or can open the lid for a big drink. There is one issue, don’t drop it on the lid- the screw top is taller than the sip protector and if the bottle is full (heavier weight) the screw top can break. We won’t be taking this one camping, but they are used daily at school.

Broke relatively quickly

This is an ok replacement top, but all it's functionality is less useful than what I thought. The straw mechanism isn't really that good or ergonomic. The thing that frustrates me with this top is it broke suddenly and I have no idea why. It still holds water without leaking but now I can't hold it by the top without cracking it more. I wouldn't recommend this top.

Fits my water bottles

Love this! I really like the smaller mouth piece and the option of a straw on the side. Less likely to spill. And it fits great!

Fits my 20oz bottle

I had a 20oz Nalgene bottle that had one of these caps. I dropped it while on vacation and the cap broke. I was uncertain if these replacement caps were an exact match, but they are. Some reviewers complain that the cap leaks - I admit that the sealing mechanism seems like it would be unreliable, but it didn't give me any problems until I dropped it. As for the straw, I didn't expect it came with one and I reused the straw I had.

My Nalgene had the regular twist off lid, and I liked the idea of having a straw and twist off. Unfortunately, the lid leaks pretty bad.

Definitely Needs to Include Straw

After ordering the product I noticed a few reviews that said it did not have a straw. Not overly a huge concern as I use the other smaller spout end more, but the straw side would be convenient at times. Should update the listing description to inform that a straw is not included.

Replacement lid

Product came as described and good for use to date. Better if the drinking straw can be provided.
