Not bad

As a whole, I like this pet food bin. I use it for cat food and it suits my needs just fine. Usually, I just buy the largest bag of cat food and pour it into a smaller container for daily use. It's annoying to have to lift and fill the container over and over though. I can fit the whole bag of cat food into this bin and only have to mess with it once. I put the dry food in the bottom and store extra treats and wet food in the top bin. The top bin just sits on the top of the bottom bin's lid so you do have to lift it off any time you want to get into the bottom bin. This doesn't bother me, but it might be annoying for some. I really like the airtight seal on both bins, keeping the food inside fresh. The wheels were very easy to install into the bottom of the bin and I didn't need a rubber mallet or anything. The hinge on the bins is a little flimsy though. It took a few tries to get the lid lined up and even then it seems like it might pop out easily. I haven't used other food bins like this so I couldn't say if this is standard or not, just something to be aware of.

Lid is frustrating

I had an airtight container for my dog's food, but one of them would stand on his hind legs and eat his fill while I had it open for feeding the others or filling the container. When I saw this one, I jumped at the taller dimensions. I like the size; it fits our 35lb bag of food with plenty of room for the scoop. The lid is terrible. It's hard to put on, it doesn't sit totally even, and it closes on its own. I have three dogs, so I need to keep it open while filling each of their bowls. It's a pain that it won't just stay open. This might get better with time, and it's not frustrating enough to make me return it. Just something to note. Our old one has a metal hinge and this one is all plastic. I'm not sure how durable it will be.

Storage container.

I saw this Amazon Basics Airtight Dog Food Storage Container with Scoop - 47 QT and had an idea. I have lots of flour for my baking and need more storage options. I don’t know if this is considered food safe thought it is BPA free ..it for my unopened larger bags of flour. I was going to get the next size up but I like that this is a little thinner and easier to maneuver. It does have wheels or you can leave them off. Since this is intended for unopened storage I may change to using it for something else at another time. This does have an airtight seal and comes with a scoop as well.

Good food bin but the lid is not perfect.

The bin is sturdy and the wheels work well even with the weight of the food. The only thing that could be improved is that the lid will not stay open on it's own making one hand scooping difficult. The lid attachment does not look like it will hold up long term but it is sealing well for now. The bin works well overall and the scoop with cup markings is a nice addition.

Not great quality

This dog food container is okay, but not the greatest. As other reviews have mentioned, the lid is pretty terrible. Feeding the dogs is my 10 year old's daily chore and there is much whining about the lid closing up on him every time. Other than that it's an okay product, but honestly I would not order it again.

Lid doesn’t work well, otherwise a good product

Very nice sized container. It holds 2 bags of soil well. However there was an issue with the lid. It was difficult to get on and it doesn’t stay open very well. Otherwise a great product. The wheels easily attach and roll smoothly. I’ve had the double container previously and used those for many years.

Nice and tight seal

This is a nice and easy to use dog food container. The top closes and locks very easily. There is a foam seal that is built into the lid and it seems to keep the food odor out of the air and also helps keep any moths out of the food. The latch on the lid works good, but I don’t think it is secure enough for most smart dogs. They could just get their nose under the latch and flip it open. So likely you would want to do what I do and keep it also inside of a closet. The scooper that came with the storage container works very well and I like the lines inside of the scoop. Wish that the lines had the measurements on them, but it still works to help keep the food measurement correct. All in all a good dog food storage container. I would just keep it in a closet if you have a smart pupper.

Absolutely love being able to buy a large bag of cat food and not have it go stale

Now I can buy large bags of cat food and not have to worry about it going stale. And it has a nice tight seal, so no air can get in and if you’re switching foods like I do because we’re in the midst of trying to find what food is best for a special needs cat I don’t just throw away all the food. I mix it in with the new food this makes it a lot easier. I love that it’s on wheels and it’s pretty slim doesn’t take up much room. If you have animals, I suggest you get one.
