It's a little bit coarse so it's good if you want to be punished for missing a jump. I also didn't realize that the length was a bit too long for my short stature so I've had to knot it up, but that's really my fault. Otherwise, it works great. (: If you're a normal person trying to occasionally use this to jump rope though, maybe go for another one.

Poor quality control

I was really looking forward to incorporating the jump rope into my daily exercise routine. This product arrived and the first thing that I noticed was the the cushion on one of the handles was peeling off. I decided to Gorilla glue it as this was an easy fix. The next thing that I noticed was that something was moving/loose inside the other handle. I assumed it was the weight but wasn’t sure if that’s how it was intended to be. So, I went for my daily run and during my routine I stopped and started jumping rope when I noticed that the bottom cap of one of the handles had fallen off and the weight had dropped out as well. Without the weight inside the handle, the product is useless as I tried to jump but the rope wouldn’t swing properly. Long story short, I wound up throwing it in the trash and never got the chance to use it. A complete waste of money.

Solid Rope

My favorite rope for a couple months now. I use it between round of squats or sled pushes for cardiovascular training. I keep this rope and a wire speed rope wound up in my gym bag and most of the time I reach for the leather jumper. The heavier weight of the handles and rope keeps me focused on form when I start to get tired, though that may well be mental. It doesn't kink up like wire and plastic jump ropes.

Just ok, leather rope a little thin

Rope is ok. I had a similar one of a different brand that broke. The other leather rope was much thicker. I'm not sure this one will last.

Old school leather jump rope. Little stiff. Had ...

Old school leather jump rope. Little stiff. Had to use saddle soap to make it more pliable. Does not spin as fast as a rubber coated wire jump rope.

Great jump rope!

I would buy it again! (assuming I lost it or a friend needed one) I'm about 5'2" and I got the 8' rope. It's a great length for me, seems durable, and the handles are pretty comfy for my hands.

Great quality. Leather is holding up nicely despite exclusively being used on concrete, and handles are still attached. I would recommend above any plastic or wire jump rope.
