Not what I was looking for

I ordered this cord when freak October snowstorm left much of new England powerless for in my town eleven days. We were able to get a generator for a great price and I wanted a cord to get the power to the house. I was very excited when it arrived after 4 days of no power, water , etc. much to my surprise when I went to plug it in the metal prong with the bend for the " twist locking action" was bent the opposite way of the average 220 twist lock. I could not use it with my generator or plug ends I bought to use to power my house. I saw nothing that led me to believe this cord was not the correct cord I was looking for. The cord was shipped very quickly and is definitely a high quality cord. Unfortunately for me it was not the cord I needed

Extra Heavy Duty for Sure!

I was in particular need of the L14-20 plug of this generator cord. Works great with my new generator. All I need is to lose power now!

Heavy duty jacket, good quality cord.

Very heavy duty jacket and easy to use. The plug boots are well designed and seal well against the yellow cord jacket. Any generator cord will be expensive, and this cord is no exception. But, I feel like I got a very good quality cord for the price.

Watch carefully

When I initially bought this I was only looking at the wiring need of 10GA 4 wire. This is only rated at 20A when I needed 30A. The connectors are different between the two. I returned it for a 30A cable and connectors that I assembled myself.

Its good. Does what it says. Twist locks pretty smooth (unlike my receptacle). Super beefy, it is about the diameter of a garden hose. Pretty heavy too. It feels like there's some serious copper in there.

Seems very well made and sturdy. However, didn't see the amperage rating easily on the site (I had wanted a 30amp, this was a 20amp), so had to return it. Returning it was very easy and efficient. Did purchase a 30amp rated connector separately from Amazon and used it with a locally supplied cable of the right amperage to complete the project.

Great long-distance low-loss extension

I finally got a chance to put this Generator cord to use today with an unexpected clear-weather extended power outage. Still freezing temps outside where the cord was routed. It stayed nice and flexible, and coiled back up easily once the power came back. Checks for voltage drops at the far end showed excellent loss characteristics. Not for cold climates, not for heavy-duty use

The electrician was away on vacay and we needed one. The price was right and shipping quick. Had to change the L14-30R (Female) immediately as it proved to be too lose of a connection for us to connect mission critical equipment without issue. These do not appear to be for industrial / commercial use. the jacket material is more plastic like an SJTW cable which means it's useless in the frigid temps we experience in Northern Canada. It will work ok in a bind but definitely not a high quality / heavy duty product.
