Better than expected and dark blue color (not the baby blue in the picture)
Bought this vise to replace my old one and this one is of good quality without breaking the bank. It is accurate, has a good finish and decent cast. I'm not using it for heavy duty metal work, don't think it's made for that. It has good clamping width and length. This vise is also not as tall as my old one, which I really like, because I've a tool rack on the wall and sometimes need to reach over the vise. The true color of the vise is actually a dark blue and not the baby blue in the picture. The dark blue is ok, and I'd give it 5 stars if it was dark green (matching my woodworking machines), but nobody makes vises in dark green.

Do not unscrew this vise all the way--it will not go back together!
After looking at all the vises out there I wanted one that was heavy duty and last a good long time. I read the reviews on this and there were some concerns that if you open this vise you can't get it to close back up which really didn't bother me until it happend. The vise showed up 3 days ago and I immediately mounted it to my workbench knowing I was going to use it this weekend. My son saw it and stated messing with it and sure enough he opened it up all the way and YES, its true, you can not get it to close back up. I thought to myself what a waste of money so I spent half the day rebuilding this brand new vise. ****If it does happen spin the vise around and unscrew the back holding bolt (in the middle of the back of the vise), once it is loose you can screw the mount back on the shaft and then re-install the holding bolt. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't buy this vise, you will at some point in your life want to unscrew this to take advantage of the full opening, so just be prepared!!

Pretty good vise. Pretty cheaply made but you get what you pay for...
If you are looking for an "everything" vise on a budget this could be the right one for you. It is pretty obvious that this is a re-branded vise brought in from a mass production line in China. I do not expect this vise to last the long haul. It already has gotten coating scraped off along with marks in the teeth over a two week period. I probably should of spent the extra money for the American Made Wilton and been done with it for life but I got what I paid for. For basic weekend use, this will serve you well, if you expect to use it more heavily I would spend the extra money and get something a bit better. Cheers!

this thing is amazing. Once you lock it
For the price, this thing is amazing. Once you lock it, it does not swivel. You also do not want to turn the handle all the way out. The threaded rod that moves the jaws open and closed, is a bit of a pain to put back together. Other than that, this is a very good vise. Smooth working and things clamped down in the jaws do not move. The only thing they could improve on this is. Put a stop on the thread rod. You unscrew the jaws to wide, it's a challange to get the threads started to screw back in. I had to partially dissemble it to and get working correctly.

Very good, high quality vise
It is a great vice for small work. Its size allows me to do about 90% of what I want to do in my garage workshop. Every once in awhile I find a work piece that is a little too large. With the Bessey Multi purpose jaws, you can do wood work on small dimension wood without damage to the work piece. I mounted my Fox on the end of a 2x6x18" piece of good quality lumber (the 18" is a guess). This enables me to clamp the vice into one of my wood working table's surface vice. That and a piece of 1/8" protective press board to cover a portion of the wood bench surface and I convert my wood bench to a metal bench without fear of surface damage.

Solid vise, solid value
This is a great all-purpose vise, and a very good value at the price. Clamping is secure and true, and the swivel and and screw are reasonably smooth. Now, if you're running a professional machine shop, this may not be precise and well-made as a Wilton, but at about 1/4 or 1/5 the price of a Wilton, it's plenty good for the vast majority of homeowners.

Quality was higher than anticipated, great value
I needed a vice for working on guns, but didn't want to spend a lot. Enter the D3248. I expected mediocre quality at this price point, but was blown away. This thing is solid as can be, heavy and can take some abuse. It moves very well with no grinding or hiccups from poor machining. The only negative, if you can call it that, is that it appears that the manufacturer applies grease to the system through the submersion method. I had to use about 10 paper towels to wipe it down and clean it up, but that's preferable to not being greased at all.

Good for the price
This vise does what I ask of it; good clamping and easy operation. Took off one star because the handle could be stronger, thought that might be a user problem--I'm using it to reform 6061 angle, and tried using a "cheater" bar. Wound up bending the handle instead.

Not for medium to heavy use
After trying the vice with the 1st pipe. The pipe clap jaws needed to be tightened because of slippige. I was already worried that the tightening bar was thin and the main shaft of the vice was short. Sure enough the tightening bar bent far to easaly! Really disappointed because it took to long to deliver even with "Prime" and it was of poor quality. I will be requesting a refund.

Good price works as expected
So far has worked very well, time will tell on how it will stand up. Main screw, body and jaws seem well machined for a lower priced vise, A bit sticky on swivel, seems to be a minor flaw somewhere that I have not isolated yet, but it is not really an issue for me.

Solid Vise
This vise arrived on time, was shipped for free. Mounted on a workbench, this is a great unit. Solid cast steel, smooth operation, very well greased, swivel locks tight, great price. Can't ask for more. Only 4 stars because it doesn't make me coffee. It would hold my cup though...

Nice vice
Nice vice. Works like you think it should. Note: The mounting holes are metric sized. If you use Imperial sized hardware, get a size smaller than you think you should.
