My go-to tape measure.

I bring these into the woods or onto construction sites every day. They magnet is strong, and they last. The tape has a great stand-out, as well. I also like that the numbers on the decimal feet side are super easy to read (and stay easy to read even after a year of abuse).

Under heavy use it holds up - See update 26 April 2017

I am a Land Surveyor and use this tape measure every day all day long. I was growing frustrated with another brand tape measure that is more popular with our suppliers. We cannot get a month of use out of them, they tend to bend in the first 3 feet and become difficult to use, they also start to tear at the end and eventually rip in half. I have been using this tape measure for 2 months now and it is as good as the first day I started to use it. It does not have any kinks in it, and shows no sign of wear. I will only purchase these tape measures from now on. The other great feature is the wide foot that loves to grab wall corners and stay put. My only gripe is the way they printed the feet, big black block with the test in yellow, it is a little difficult to read in some instances and you find yourself staring at it longer than you should. I thought I would get used to it by now but I still have not. I can forgive that in light of its durability. Edit: After 3 months and a week my first one finally broke, the return spring inside snapped. This was after using it 6-8 hours a day 5 days a week in sun, dirt, rain and mud. Many times we had to clean it back off because it collected too much mud to retract. I just ordered 3 more as I am on my spare one and want to have a few on hand for my other crew and myself. Keep in mind I normally destroy another brands tape measure up in 4 weeks, and after a week we are usually dealing with it bent to one side or the other making it frustrating to use. We had none of that nonsense with this tape measure. This is a godsend. Best Tape measure I have ever purchased. UPDATE 26 April 2017 I wanted to update and should have done this a while ago. This product has changed I thought it was my imagination and it is not. I have since tried other products and realized I was in denial. The tape in the tape measure is now made of inferior material resulting in it bending and staying bent rendering it very frustrating to use. This happens usually in the first or second week of use then you try to get your moneys worth out of it cursing at it every day. I was surprised to see the price went up from about $15 a unit to $20 especially since it is obvious the material they are using is substandard. I will not be buying this tape measure anymore and I am again on the hunt to find one that holds up.

Hey Land Surveyors... This is a great tape!

Simply put... I love this tape. It sits in my pocket daily and gets used often as a land surveying tool. It is very easy to read, retracts very smoothly, and has a killer magnetic end that makes measuring from metallic objects sooooo easy. The general public needs to be aware that this specific model (Komelon 7125IE) has inches AND engineering (10ths of a foot) graduations. If you are looking for an inch specific tape, have a look at the Komelon 7125... for an inch/metric option, look at the Komelon 7425IM.

IS NOT PRINTED ON BOTH SIDES

The description needs to be updated, this tape does not have printing on both sides. The yellow color is NOT very contrasting, and doesn't necessarily make it harder to read the numbers. I've owned Komelon tapes for the past 10 years and I switched to another brand and had regrets. The tape on the other brand squeezed between the plastic frame and bent the tape, now the last 2 to 3 feet fold over, that has never happened on a Komelon. Besides the contrast and lack of double sided printing, this is a high quality tool no matter where it was made. Which by the way it is a Product of Korea assembled in China. No surprise there. Also, the hook on this tape does NOT have the nail/screw hole which is very useful when working alone.

The best u can buy.

I use to buy them at home depot brand name husky,this is the same one, if u work outside and in wet condition, these tape are good when mud get in contacte with the blade they don’t get stuck like some others good brand tape,i been using these for over a decade and i’am happy to be able to get them again, u need to try it once then u won’t be able te work without it, by the way i am a concrete worker tape drag on the ground all the time a beleive me this is the best i had so far .

Great tape. I don't see a version for the opposite chirality though. I'd like to have both left-handed and right-handed variants. I didn't notice the magnets on the end before purchasing, they were an awesome surprise.

Komelon 712 engineering tape measure. Use it almost every day at work. Easy to read, tough and well made. I will buy some more as presents. Two thumbs up. Update- I bought more to give away as safety rewards.
