Roomy, comfy and covers well

This looks good, is very lightweight and covers well. However, it's a little floppier than I expected; thought it would be a little more structured. Bought for a male relative and his wife loves it; she uses it more than he does!

Nice Hat. One Size as usual means different things. Overall very happy.

We bought two hats, and although supposed to be one size they were not the same. Fortunately one of us has a bigger head than the other so we were able to work with it. If just buying one you may need to return and try again, don't give up, don't assume if one hat does not fit, none of them will. There is plenty of adjustment with a cord and bungy around the hat band and we were both happy after playing around with it to get it just right. We wore them first time in temperatures in the low 70's, under trees most of the time. A four mile hike about 1.5 hours including stops to admire the waterfalls. The crown is definitely cooling, none of that hot head feel you can get when wearing a hat. But we found upon removing the hat that we were "glowing" where the hat band had been, but we had not noticed until we removed our hats. The top of the crown is solid, so no issue if not too much hair there, it is the sides of the crown that let air through. The brim did a good job of keeping the sun off our faces and back of the neck. We tested how the neck cover would look, but then refolded it and tucked it back in the little pocket in the brim. Love this feature, those neck covers look goofy so it is really nice to be able to tuck it out of sight when not needed. We like that the edge of the brim is soft, so the brim has quite a bit of give to it, and it frames the face nicely. Overall very happy.

Functional sun hat but not very "cooling"

Good sun hat. Nice big brim. Doesn't get smelly even after weeks of sweating in it. A little floppy, but that hasn't affected the functionality for me even on windy days. I didn't really feel the cooling effect it's supposed to have, but it was still lightweight and comfy and relatively cool to wear.

Can’t find this in stores anywhere, but I’m glad I pulled the trigger anyway. My favorite hat so far.

Essential sun protection

This is a great choice for sun-protective headgear. I was given no choice by my new dermatologist but to start wearing a hat. I finally gave in back in March and started a search. The requirements were SPF + 30 protective, with a wide, floppy brim to keep the sun off my neck, ears, and face. I found the Columbia Unisex Coolhead II Zero Booney to be the most suitable of all the ones I've tried--and now have 3 Booneys. One of the best features is the exterior cord lock that allows you to tighten or loosen the interior head band without removing the hat. It's the most user-friendly cord lock of all the ones I've tried. The hat's quite breathable, but not waterproof, so it does get wet in the rain. Otherwise it's a no muss, no fuss hat. Roll it up, fold it up, put it back on and it still looks great. The chin strap can be tucked away, but you'll need it in a breeze.

Needs Stiffer Brim

Bought the Coolhead II Zero Booney because of the neck flap to offer more protection than the Bora Bora Booney II hat made by Columbia. I wore the hat to work in the yard and was disappointed in the floppiness of the brim. I was cutting the grass, walking behind a self propelled mower and with no wind blowing, the brim of the hat flopped down, which created obscured peripheral vision. The hat could be a great hat if it had a stiffer brim.

Doesn’t cool

I’m usually a huge fan of Columbia products, but this one caused me to rethink the brand. The hat did not cool as advertised. Great hat, just don’t buy it and expect it to be cool when you sweat.

Exactly what I was looking for

The hat is lightweight, but I wouldn't say it's feather-like. However, this is exactly what I was looking for, and I'm super satisfied. One concern for others is that it fits me perfectly; I don't have a particularly large skull, but this fit me well with just the right amount of room for my overgrown hair. I wonder if this would work for some of the others that may need bigger sizes.

Excellent hat.

Great product. Excellent fit. I have a large-ish head, and regular hats generally tend to look clumsy on me. This one will fit a size larger than mine too and smaller sizes just as well. And, keeps you comfortable in the sun.

Perfect for sun protection

Does the job. Took it for a high altitude trek. The hat kept my head cool and did not get headache like I used when under sun for too long.

Soft product

Used it in my last trip in jungle, it keeps my head cool and dry. Perfect for sunny outing. Live it to wear during daytime. Quite soft.

Sides of the hat not strong

The amount I have paid for teh hat is not as per what I was expecting from the Columbia cap. The sides of the caps are not strong and keep falling they should have used a strong stuff to make it stay Really sad i bought for such a high pricr Though I am using it for my trekking but not satisfied
