Not 4 inches wide
I purchased these collars because I needed 4" ones for a baking project. They are only 3.5" wide, so I had to tape two of them together.

Clear Cake Collars
I was anxious to try a chocolate cake collar, and was happy to find these offered through Amazon (I wasn't comfortable using acetate from a business supply store that might not be 'food safe'). My first use was a success, and I used a combination of dark chocolate candy melts and chocolate almond bark. It didn't take long for the chocolate to set up enough to wrap around the cake. Hint: cover work surface with freezer paper to help with clean-up. Make sure your cake is level and that the sides are straight. Crumb coat the cake. First, I made a design with the dark chocolate and let that set up slightly (I lifted up one end of the collar several times while it cooled off a little, to prevent it from drying flat). Then I used an offset spatula to gently spread the second color over the entire strip. After a few minutes, I picked it up by the top corners and wrapped it around my crumb coated cake (no need to 'smooth' it after it's in place). Let the bottom of the strip rest on the cake board or plate all the way around the cake. There was a slight overlap where the ends met. After the collar is in place, replace the chocolate in the corners where your fingers held the collar. Chill in the refrigerator, and slowly remove the collar when the chocolate is cold. I then piped rosettes to cover the top of the cake.

No grease stains
I bake a lot of cakes and I’m sick of the cardboard that shows butter stains after the cake sits out. These are much better!

Did I say Perfect?
The size and quality of these were perfect for our cake preparation. They were also perfectly cut to size for easy use. Note: be sure to have tape on hand to hold the ends together.

Good quality collars
The collars were stronger than I expected. It is very sturdy to hold the whipped cream around the cake. Definitely worth the money.
