Works perfectly with my Texas Power Bar.
I bought this to use with my new Texas Power Bar (from Elite FTS). At first I was a little worried that it might be too big or too small, but it's the perfect size for this bar. Works like a charm. Makes loading and unloading plates super easy. I used to use cheap spring clips, but those things were painful to use and make an awful, grating sound and feel as you slide it against the grooves at the end of a barbell. These lock jaw collars don't make any sound going on, because they're not scraping against anything. They do require a little bit of force to close them up once you have them in place on the bar. But it's not too bad. And hey, you're lifting weights anyway, so might as well work on your finger strength, eh? When you release the lock, one thing I dreaded was it popping out smacking my fingers like being hit with a wooden ruler or something for being bad. Haha. Well I'm happy to report that it doesn't do that at all. Your fingers are perfectly safe. As for their strength, I've placed a couple hundred pounds of weights on one end of the barbell, and the lock-jaw collar held just fine even when I positioned the bar on the floor and raised it into a vertical position and shook it. This collar is solid. I doubt my spring clips would have been able to do that without the plates sliding down. Not that it needs to be that strong, mind you, since you'll never do that with your bar in practice. The build quality is very good also. It's made of thick, strong plastic. Some people said theirs broke, if I recall correctly. I'm not sure how. They feel really strong. I'll report back if that ever happens to me. Anyway, I'll be buying two more pairs for my dumbbell bars as well. I've already tried them out on one of my dumbbell bars, and it worked just fine with them (and they don't have the grooves at the ends of the bar like most barbells do). Highly recommended! UPDATE 6/22/2012: I've had these for 6 months now, and I've used them three times a week continuously during that time. No problems seen. They're still as good as new. They've not lost any traction. And I ordered a second pair so I can use them with my dumbbell bars also. Hope that helps.

Good collars, but be careful of seller
I'm going to talk about the seller Global Store Supply first, and then I'm going to talk about the collars. I understand that these are meant to be product reviews, but people rarely look at seller reviews before buying. Further, I have given the product the stars it deserves and have not allowed a terrible seller to impact my perception of the product. I had the misfortune of purchasing these from Global Store Supply, as previously mentioned. Shipping was a bit late, and the collars were just sort of rattling around loose inside the box, but I figured they're designed to take a beating so it's probably not too bad. Then I realized I had been sent fake knock-off items. Other reviews have noted some of the differences, but the most salient is that the Lockjaw branding text visible in the photos is missing. These fakes feel different than the real ones, fit differently, and are different in their construction. They include a locking tab that seems like it will probably break off due to regular wear in a month or two at most. I cannot comment on the durability in practice, but that's irrelevant as I should never have been sent an illegitimate product. Sellers who send out fakes using Amazon as a platform damage the Amazon brand and the trust that that people have in that brand, and must be stomped out immediately. Upon filing a complaint, I received the following email from the seller: "Hi, You have been fully refunded. Thank you" I got my money back, but that doesn't excuse what they did. How many people bought a set of these from them, thinking they were a legitimate product and were not aware of the differences? Absolutely disgusting conduct. With that unpleasantness out of the way, these collars are fantastic as long as you get a real set. As other reviewers have mentioned, they may be slightly snug depending on the actual dimensions of your barbell since they are not technically designed for those of exactly 2.0" diameter. While I have had no issue with durability, I don't think I would use them for Olympic lifts as they are, according to the company, not intended for this purpose. Easy to get on and off, and hold the plates in a way that makes me confident they aren't going anywhere.

First World Problem Solved
I have some spring clip style barbell collars that are a pain to use, so much so that I know I workout less simply because of how hard it is to change the weights on my Olympic bar. So, when I saw this lockjaw product I was excited but a little hesitant due to the price (approx. $37 at the time of this writing). I was also hesitant because of a comment from another reviewer that said these would not easily fit a 2" collar, despite the product info saying it would, but I decided to make the purchase anyways. I'm glad I did. I got them in a small box the day after ordering and selecting Standard Shipping, so I'm very pleased with that. They're heavy for their size and appear well made. When I initially tried to fit them over my 2" bar (I guess some nicer bars are 50mm vs. my sports authority 2" bar) it barely fit, and I had a really hard time clamping it down. Upon unclamping and removing the lockjaw collar and putting it back on, it fit easily and with no resistance. I think the first time you fit the collar on the bar it adjusts the nylon/rubber clamping plates of the lockjaw out a little to provide more clearance. I had the same experience with the second lockjaw in the package---tight fit the first time, hard to clamp, then I removed it, put it back on and now it works exactly like its supposed to. Snug, secure fit when clamped, otherwise it moves over the bar with no friction or problems. There isn't much else I can say about this product other than I feel its slightly overpriced for what it is, but I'd still happily pay it for the convenience it offers. I can change my weights out in a few seconds now versus the three or four minutes it took before with my old style collars.

Very sturdy construction. Latch works excellent
Very sturdy construction. Latch works excellent. Provides great clamp onto the barbell end and is very easy to put on and remove. Would recommend over any other barbell lock.

Do the job but feel cheap. Ended up getting the Pro version instead
Pretty light weight, locks pretty good around the bar sleeves but does not lock when closing them on their own. Way better than regular spring clips in terms of convenience but one of them arrived looser than the other. Should have gotten Lock-Jaw pros the first time

Ottimi.
