Great Util It Wouldn't Stay Inflated...
This was the third camping sleeping pad I've had. The first was decent, but was just inflatable and didn't offer insulation. I ordered a Gear Doctor 4.3R pad and used it a few weeks before this Coleman one popped up and ordered it. For about 2-3 weeks, it was unreal amazing... but then it stopped holding air. Wow when this worked did it work amazing. The air intake approach boggled my mind as fantastic as it was. As advertised, it would slowly inflate as it was unrolled. It was nice, thick, warm, and the perfect size. I car camp 2-3 nights per week, every week, so it gets regular use and tested well. A few weeks in, I found it was not holding air throughout the entire night. Odd because the air intake was so well designed. About 1.5 months in and it will need at least 1 refill of air per night. Wholly unacceptable... It really was fantastic before it started down the bad trend. Looks like it's back to the Gear Doctor one. It wasn't quite as thick inflated as this Coleman, but I never had an issue with air leaking out of that at night...

Too narrow
Too narrow, returning. Possibly good for teenager or kid, but they’ll easy fall off the pad too. Pad beneath is the wider other Coleman pad with pillow attached.

Unfortunately uncomfortable
Mat is very narrow and I kept trying to stay on it all night - and I am a thin person. Unfortunate, because otherwise it seems well made and compresses well

Love the self-inflating design
This lightweight camp pad is designed to provide a comfortable sleeping surface while also being easy to inflate and pack up. One of the standout features of this camping sleep pad is its self-inflating design. Simply unroll the pad, open the air valve, and watch as it inflates itself in just a few minutes. This makes it incredibly easy to set up your sleeping area and get a good night's rest. The Coleman Silver Springs Self-Inflating Camping Sleep Pad is also designed with comfort in mind. It features insulated foam and a durable coating that provides a comfortable sleeping surface while also protecting against punctures and other damage. Overall, I highly recommend the Coleman Silver Springs Self-Inflating Camping Sleep Pad to anyone who loves camping or spending time in the outdoors. The self-inflating design and comfortable sleeping surface make it a great choice for anyone looking for a hassle-free camping experience.

Nice quality pad, underwhelming inflation.
The Coleman Silver Springs self-inflating camping pad comes rolled up in its own cinch bag. The bag has a quality feel to it; lightweight but durable. Pulling the black clasp back and opening the top of the bag, you'll find the pad rolled up and held closed with two black cloth stretchy bands, an instruction leaflet, and a warranty paper. The bands have a nice amount of stretch and remove and reapply easily. The pad itself feels well constructed as well. It is a little bit longer than I had originally pictured in my head. If you unscrew the grey cap covering the valve, you'll find a white plastic piece with a yellow rubber seal on it. You can push on this to flip it between the inflate and deflate sides, or leave it halfway in between for "fully open". The guide recommends flipping the valve to the fully open position for some time to let the pressure equalize, and then flip it to inflate to get the pad to the fullness you want. From there it is a bit vague as to how it inflates, but apparently it should fill by itself without any further interaction. Unfortunately, this is where I ran into issues. I tried leaving the valve fully open for some time and then switching it to inflate over a period of a few hours, but it did not come close to inflating to the same level the pictures on the product page show. It did manage to fill slightly, as I could hear air rushing out as I rolled it up. But it did not have the same cushiony or fully inflated/unwrinkled look that the product pictures show, and it certainly didn't "inflate in seconds". That being said, its good construction and fairly comfortable foam padding would still make for a good camping pad. I have to wonder if it would work well with some other method of inflation. I hope that I just got a dud and that others have a better experience.

Thick, comfortable
This is your basic Thermarest knockoff sleeping pad. Directly compared to our old camprest pad here are the basic differences. - Size: About the same width, which is generally a good mix between portability and compactness. Good for car or very light hike in camping. - Thickness: At 3 inches this compares with the bigger Thermarest Luxury pads, which we also own (not pictured). So this Coleman pad is sort of an odd mix of narrow and thick. - Material: very similar to the Thermarest if just a tad less soft. Really just barely noticeable though. - Valve: The Coleman has a reversible one-way valve which in theory should be great but is let down by a very cheap and rubbery cap. Just remember to reverse it when deflating or you could blow the valve. All in all a very competent Thermarest substitute that has a very comfortable thickness (definitely recommend 3 inch thickness when car camping) but is geared to slimmer people due to its width. Really only gripe is the valve cap but for the price it’s perfectly liveable. Recommended.
