Holes are Small enough to use any pasta

Large colanders for pasta are a pain to store. They are difficult to retrieve from a cabinet and tempt one to just pour off the water from boiled pasta leading to pasta down the drain. This product snaps open and closed taking up room in a cabinet equal to 4 large but nesting plates. You use it and clean it and store it fast. So you use it. Done.

OXO does it again!

I love the entire GoodGrips line - just about everything in it is something I would recommend to others. This colander collapses which is incredibly helpful if you have a small kitchen and not, you know, endless racks to hang your fifty pots, pans, and colanders from. I've used mine frequently and it shows no sign of wear. My *only* gripe is that the material is unfortunately a pain to get any sort of grease off of. I know, it sounds petty, but I have to do multiple scrubdowns and rinses in order to get it off. This makes me more inclined to use my metal colander for things like draining taco meat - the metal colander can be tossed into the dishwasher and it will come out clean, this one will not. It cleans up nicely for everything else (pasta, veggies, etc.), but if you drain anything involving oil, expect to hand wash it at least a couple times in order to remove the film.

A little design flaw detracts from its ease of use.

I bought the OXO Good Grips Silicone Collapsible Strainer to replace a similar one of a different brand that I'd used for many years until it finally separated from its frame. The old model is no longer available, but the OXO is a decent substitute. It expands and collapses easily. I use if for hot and cold foods and wash it in the dishwasher. It collapses to a thin disc that I can easily hang on a hook near the sink. The part that I'm not happy about is that the strainer has a flat bottom with holes, whereas the old one sat on ridges on the bottom of the strainer. So, when I set this down in the sink, unless I place it directly over the drain, the liquid stays in the food, and I have to pick it up and shake it to get the food drained. This is not a huge flaw, but it could be more user friendly.

Nice for compact kitchens…

We bought this for one of our vacation rentals with a smaller kitchen. We love that is easy to store and takes up very little space.

Sink strainer

I bought this because I am sick and tired of cleaning my deep sink strainer,,I get mold in my sink with the food falling in the holes of my stone sink(bad move on my part) I rinse my dishes over this life saver, then dump the food crumbs in the garbage,,, Love this , fast easy, less work!!

Works fairly well collapsable and sturdy

Tomatoes seeds get stuck in small holes and hard to drain but if you use your hands as your rinsing to clear water with movement its okay. Gets the job done BUT the holes definitely could be larger to make things easier... but all the other ones are metal or aren't good. This is honestly the first oxo product I wasn't wowed with.

Excellent Product!

Absolutely perfect and does exactly what it says. This is a good, deep sieve so you can drain plenty and fits perfectly in my kitchen sink's drainage area. Love the fact this sieve folds easily for storage, is a dream to clean and a beautiful, bright colour too! Would highly recommend this sieve, great quality and appears robust which makes it excellent value for money. A very well deserved 5 star product!

Strainer

By far the best strainer I ever bought all the other ones at some point when you collapse them and stretching back out open it will rip in the middle so far I had this for 2 years running strong nowhere and tear by far the best one I ever had do not be scared or hesitate to buy this one you're going to be more than happy that you did I use it everyday I eat pasta everyday and I'm using this with high heat when I dry my pasta every night never had a problem with it and it is bigger than most collapsible strainers like at Canadian Tire or something

Well made product up for the job.

Looks a decent size, small but not too small. I like the long handle as l got a Oxo rice strainer with tiny handles that although it's a great product, well made and sturdy it's a git to hold when draining piping hot hot food!! Hoping newbie eliminates that issue. Will be well worth the price if it does.
